This product is fantastic for giving a really healthy glow and works especially well when applied to cheekbones and under the eyebrow arch. The pink tint is very subtle and works with most skin tones, although may be more suited to 'warmer' skin tones.
It can be used to add a bit of luminosity to day time make up but can have a really striking effect when used for night time make up. If you are using in the day time, only a very small amount is needed and make sure to take extra time to really blend in as it can look a bit 'cakey' if you don't rub in properly.
The liquid can be used alone if you are looking to simply brighten, and can also be used with other make up, for example over foundation. Blusher over the beam also works very well.
This product is excellent value for money; it is from a great make up brand. Although initial cost may seem expensive, the make up works so well when only applying a small amount that it is not necessary to buy often.
I love this product and would highly recommend.
The Benefit Cosmetics high beam luminescent complexion enhancer is available for GBP 19.50.
The highlighter is described as follows. "Our satiny pink liquid highlighter accents cheek & brow bones for a radiant glow. Use as a spot highlighter or delicately blend all over your complexion. Looks perfectly radiant on all skintones. It's the "supermodel in a bottle"!"
The application is easily accomplished. For this I dab with the brush two or three times my cheekbones along and then segment passing it with my finger. The Highlighter needs some time to dry, so you can remove minor mistakes without problems. The opacity is good, a one-time application should be absolutely sufficient in most cases. The highlighter is pleasant to use, but the result is no different from other products. The result: beautiful shimmer on the cheeks, which lasts all day and looks natural. The texture is creamy to liquid so that it can be optimally distributed and work on your skin. The opacity is very good, you need per cheek like a tiny dot to set highlights. I use the highlighter under the brows. I carry on the highlighter, and shut him under the eyebrow. The eyes are the same amount of radiant! If I give powder on the nose and forehead, and give the High Beam on cheeks and eyebrows, he is also good for my oily skin useful and it does not look greasy, and can only wonderfully shimmering out. By cold Highlighterfarbe it fits perfectly with my cold skin type and does not look artificial. On the skin, the High Beam is a white glow and he sees no longer light pink as in the packaging. The make-up removal is easy with cleansing milk, remains without the sheen on the skin. Highly recommendatory Highlighter, but the price scares off first. But durability and effect are just great.
I am a huge fan of Benefit and therefore would happily but all my make up from them should the budget allow ... however I can also admit when something is slightly extravagant. If you buy this highlighter you won't be disappointed , it looks beautiful on cheeks , collarbones and even when mixed in with foundation or moisturiser. I would say its quite universal in terms of which skin tones it can be used on , I am very pale and it looks great on me but on the other hand I have a friend who is alot darker and also uses it.
In regards to application it could not be easier as it comes with a brush applicator so it can be brushed directly onto cheeks or onto the back of the hand if mixing with other products.
My only issue with this product is as mentioned I really do feel that there are other highlighters that do the same job at a fraction of the cost , so unless this highlighter is a treat you really don't need to spend £20.00 on it. That being said if you did it would last you a while !
I had wanted this highlighter for ages, and managed to get it in full size along with a full size hoola bronzer and other products in a chorus mas set in the Christmas sales for £20! Baffin! But when it runs out I will definitely not be hesitating to repurchase it for full price. I have quite pale skin without wearing fake tan and it gives a lovely shimmer on the cheekbones making my skin look less dull and making me also look much more healthier. I have tried this when wearing fake tan also and it is just as nice, therefore it definitely suits different skin tones. I have quite dry skin sometimes also but it does sit/sink in very nicely to the skin. A little bit definitely goes a long way so I am sure the bottle will last a long time. I usually use this every day just on top of my cheekbones, but I have tried it contour wise on my nose top of lip etc and it is also just as nice. I have not been able to find a liquid highlight that is similar to this on the highstreet and therefore cheaper however I would be open to finding one as it is still quite pricey even though it is worth it and I would recommend it! Another benefit product I have been thoroughly impressed with and I am happy to pay the price for it as I have yet to find a similar cheaper dupe.
High beam was the first benefit product that I ever bought and I am so glad that I did end up splurging and buying this as it truly is a great highlighter that everyone should have in their makeup collection.
The colour of this product is a pearly white that looks quite scary when you first apply but when blended in it gives the most amazing glow to the skin and makes your skin look radiant. The packaging of this product is very simple but still elegant and very attractive to the eye which is something that drawn me to buying this product in the first place. The only downside to this product in my eyes is that after a while the highlighter can collect at the top of the bottle and go crusty and dried up which can be frustrating but not a major problem, as sometimes it is my own fault for not screwing the lid on properly.
Benefit high beam, which retails for £19.50 here in the UK, is a great highlighter that does not cake on the skin nor does it go patchy and lasts really well on the skin, up to 8 hours for me. The product is also very natural which is something I love.
Overall I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a high quality highlighter or for someone who just wants to try something new. I think that this product is something that everyone should have in their makeup collection. I love it!
This is one of the few Benefit products that I really enjoy.
It's always a bit hit and miss with me this brand so to say I really rate this even surprises me!
This is a wonderful basic sort of product that can really be used on your face to highlight or enhance your best features.
This is mainly for eyebrows and cheeks, but one national magazine reported it is also good for the bridge nose and to highlight lips.
This is a sheen of pink fluid that is applied by the brush that comes with the product. You only need to dot a small amount onto your skin, or various places and blend.
This is suitable for all skin types and I have sensitive skin and this didn't cause any reactions whatsoever.
I use this mainly on my cheeks and it helps my skin look radiant and summer, fresh and natural. It highlights and doesn't overwhelm the colour of the blusher or ruin the colour in any way. This blended in very well, but I found that less is definitely more with this.
Although this states it is an all day product I found I had to carry this around to re-apply throughout the day. I didn't actually mind doing that as I didn't expect it to stay on the whole day.
For a bottle of only 13ml this has lasted me such a long time and is well worth the money, however, £19.50 is quite expensive purchased at Benfefit, you can definitely get a cheaper price by shopping around.
I've had a couple of these bottles of high beam by Benefit in my make up bag over the last few years. It's one of those products that is really easy to use and can be used in a few different ways.
The bottle of high beam looks like a nail varnish on first inspection. Inside the lid is a brush like a nail varnish too but the product is a cream like texture.
The key to using this high beam product successfully is to go with the less is more rule. I dot a tiny amount under my eyebrows as a high lighter but you can use it on the cupids bow too to define the lips and on the cheek bones.
This is great used minimally and looks lovely on. I had my bottle for so long I had to eventually chuck it away as it was a bit ancient in the bottle. I had a friend whose skin reacted to the contents though and she got little white heads under her skin due to the greasy nature of the product so she had to stop using it.
My latest bottle was a little sample size from a beauty box which will last months anyway but the full sized bottles are quite expensive at £19.50 in Boots.
I think most skin types will find this product looks good on them. I save mine for nights out rather than everyday use as it is a bit shimmery but it's still a favourite product of mine.
Ive tried a few different benefit products over the years but with face products I normally use the same one all the time.. last year though when I ran out of my favourite coralista blush I decided to use up some other products that I had received through beauty boxes /gifts etc.
**About the brand**
I think of benefit as being quite a high end make up brand. I think it is aimed at the younger end of the market ie like mac rather than say estee lauder .
Benefit offer quite a decent range of face and cheek tints. I currently seem to have this and one called posietint- There are others including benetint ( I think I had this in the past and hated it)lollitint, sunbeam and chachatint.
Out of the range this one appeals the most as I thought it might be like a mac product I own but with more of a pink shimmer rather than a golden glow.
This is described as a "luminescent complexion enhancer" and currently costs £19.50. The bottle for this is quite small at 13ml - I actually thought mine was a sample size. Saying that a small amount goes a long way.
The lid does have a brush to apply this, I dot this on my cheeks then blend it in. I have light -medium tone skin and this creates a light glowy look
Another tip i follow is from the website - -Apply high beam over benetint for a long-lasting, dewy flush! To add soft definition to your nose, apply high beam down the bridge of your nose and blend.--
I like this because it creates a more natural look for me. More radiant glow than clown face. It blends well and gives me good coverage
Out of the whole benefit range this is my favourite product apart from coralista . Looking online it is pricey but it has lasted me a long time.
This is an amazing liquid highlighter which gives you a beautiful natural pink-ish shimmer. I'm onto my second bottle of this and I love it. The bottle is quite like a nail polish bottle, and comes with a nail polish - type brush to apply. You simply apply this highlighter to your cheekbones and to the apple of your cheeks and blend into your skin for definition. I apply it in the way that Benefit advises, with an 'X' on each cheek and then to blend with my fingers.
Fortunately the consistency of the highlighter is quite thick so you don't need much at once, meaning that one bottle of the High Beam highlighter will last you quite a while. The shelf life claims to be 6 months but I've had mine for well over a year and it's still the same as it was when I got it!
Once applied, this highlighter will stay put all day and define your cheeks. The product can also be applied to brow bones, and if you are self conscious of your nose size it can be applied there too!
Sadly this product is quite expensive at about £19. I'm quite stingy with money myself, and even I must admit that this highlighter is 100% worth the money! Compared to other highlighters I've used, this one is much more natural-looking as my others have been powder-based. I love the fact that this one is liquid as it's so much easier to apply and gives a real shimmer to your face.
High Beam is a liquid highlighter from Benefit. It comes presented in what looks like a small nail polish bottle. Inside the bottle is a brush that you use to sweep the highlighter on to your cheeks. The highlighter is a gorgeous pink colour and it's quite shimmery. I use the highlighter on my cheekbones to give some much needed definition. The product is quite thick but it spreads well on to the skin, providing you don't use too much of it. You can either sweep the product on to your cheeks using the built in brush or you can apply a few dots and blend the product in using your fingertips.
I am pleased to say that the highlighter has great staying power. I can apply the product at 8am and it's still there at 10pm when I go to bed! At £19.50 it's not the cheapest highlighter on the market but it lasts ages as you only need a small amount of it at a time. It comes boxed with an instruction leaflet inside if you get stuck.
You can also use the product along your nose to give the impression of a slimmer nose. I use the product in this way as I often think my nose is too large! Again, the product stays put all day. I also use it along the brow bone to give a shimmery effect and sometimes I even mix the product with my moisturiser to give a glowing effect to my skin, so the product itself is very versatile.
As you get to bottom of the bottle you will need to give it a good shake to get the remainder of the product out. It has a shelf life of six months once opened but I've had my current bottle for over a year and it's still as good as new.
This is a great highlighter that's excellent quality and value, as it does last and last. Just don't be put off by the price tag!
I absolutely adore the Benefit make up range and was very excited the first time that I tried this product.
The bottle comes in a cute little Benefit box which is the same light pink colour of the highlighting liquid. The bottle is clear so that you can see the fluid inside and has a which screw top lid which has a brush attached - a little bit like a nail varnish bottle.
The highlighting liquid is a light pink shimmer which personally I think would suit any skin tone. It is easy to apply, I wear it on my cheekbones and just under my eyebrows.
The highlighter lasts a very long time, usually all night if I am going out and it removed very easily with make up remover.
This product is fantastic, however a little pricey at an average of £20 per bottle (depending on where you buy it from) I usually get it from Debenhams.
Overall I would recommend this item and I will be using it myself again and again!
High Beam is a highlighter from the high quality cosmetics company Benefit. I have used this product for around 10 years and I love it! The bottle and applicator brush has a likeness of a bottle of nail varnish. I go across each cheekbone once in a swipe motion and blend it into my skin using my finger. It is a very pale pink colour so not garish. It makes my cheekbones stand out by giving them a shimmery look. Friends have commented on how nice it looks and asked for its details so they could purchase it. I also apply it down my nose in a straight line and blend, and as it highlights it makes your nose look smaller and perfectly straight. I love all Benefit's products and the only negative point I can say about this product is the price. However, Benefit fans will expect high prices for most of their products and this particular one is one of their best sellers. The cheapest I have found for High Beam is around £17 in Debenhams.
Given that it is only a small bottle, it actually lasts a long time because you only need to use a very small amount at a time. I only use it on special occasions/nights out so obviously somebody using it daily would get through it quicker than me, but it would still last a long time. Value for money in my opinion.
The effects of the highlighter once applied has lasted me the entire evening out and remains on my skin giving the same high-lighting effect until it is washed off.
This high beam is a highlighter from the company benefit cosmetics which has now been around for 40 years. This product is one of their best sellers and is very popular around the world. The highlighter is very shimmery. It is a light pink colour which looks gorgeous and dewy on the skin. The product is a great dupe for the ted baker highlighter which is practically the same but a bit more affordable. The packaging of the product is very simple. It is a glass container with a white plastic lid. The product says the name on and the company. The applicator is a small brush. It is like the ones you get in a nail polish. To apply this product you dab a small amount on your cheekbones then blend it in. It gives a very healthy look to the skin that lasts all day . Hope this helps x x x Imogen
Over the years I have dabbled in many different brands of make up, however nowadays I tend to stick to the ones I know and like, so upon receiving a bottle of Benefit ''''High Beam'''' for my birthday I was very much delighted. Admittedly, I had not tried too many Benefit products before receiving this, however the ones I had tried I had loved and have always been drawn in by Benefits packaging and display.
==~~What is it?~~==
Benefit High Beam is a liquid (though I use this term fairly loosely as the product itself is fairly thick) highlighter, essentially used to highlight the cheekbones, nose, cupids bow or anywhere you''''d like to stand out a bit more and catch the light. Benefit actually describe it as a ''''Luminescent complexion highlighter''''.
It is fairly pink in tone and has a pearl like finish to it; Sun Beam is also available which is much more bronzy toned highlighter.
==~~Price and Availability~~==
This is by no means a cheap beauty product, costing £19.50 per 15 ml (average sized bottle). It can sometimes also be purchased in ''''sample'''' style sizes in which you get 4ml of product; though these are still sometimes priced around the £9 mark! Benefit products are not often in any sort of offer so the majority of the time you did have to end up paying this full price, though having said that Boots are currently doing an offer in which when you buy two Benefit products you receive a free gift. (17/07/2014.)
High Beam is fairly widely available to buy, all Benefit counters will stock it as it is one of their number one items. You can find the likes of Benefit counters in most large department stores, such as; Debenhams, House of Fraser, John Lewis, etc. Some of the larger Boots stores also stock Benefit, as well as being able to find Benefit High Beam at many online retailers.
==~~Applying the product~~==
The product itself comes in a nail varnish like bottle, with a screw top lid and a brush to apply. I tend to find that the brush actually collects far too much product than what I need, so I tend to wipe the amount I would like off on the back of my hand and then continue to apply with my fingers. I have tried applying with the brush also, though tend to find this just spreads the product around my face and does not actually blend it in; so would definitely recommend using a brush or fingers to apply. As I have previously mentioned, the product is fairly thick on consistency which means it did feel fairly heavy when I first started to apply it to my skin. I was actually expecting it to be slightly greasy in texture, but was pleased to find it wasn''''t.
As I blended out the product I noticed it becoming more lightweight and once completely blended in I could not feel it at all on my cheeks and actually had a powder like finish in that it was not greasy or shiny looking at all, which I have had with some other highlighters. This being said, when I have used too much product in the past it can be very greasy and almost sticky feeling on the skin, so I would recommend starting of by just using a little and then building it up to the desired amount. The product itself is very easy to blend into the skin and feels silky and smooth whilst doing so. I have found the best way for me to apply the product is with my fingers as the warmth from them warms up the product meaning it is very smooth to blend and does so a little more flawlessly. I have also found that when applying with a brush, you can be left with brush strokes in the make up and it can be a little harder to blend in, sometimes resulting in the look of a ''''stripe'''' of product across the cheek bone.
I really love the results I get with this highlighter, it really does catch the light and draws attention to any high points on the face. I also really like the shade of this product; it is neither too pink tone or too white/cream toned, which means it looks slightly more ''''natural'''' and is not too obvious. The finish of it is luminescent as describes and really does add a glow to the cheeks. There are pieces of glitter in this highlighter, however, they are so fine that is almost looks like a soft shimmer, I really like this as it avoids that ''''disco ball'''' look you can sometimes get if there is too much glitter in a product.
What I really liked about this highlighter is that it looked good both in daylight/natural lighting and synthetic lighting and therefore if I applied it indoors I did not need to worry about going outdoors with it on and it looking too obvious or obnoxious. It stayed in place all day and does not become greasy or oily looking on the skin and just leaves a nice looking glow. It can be a little dewy looking, though if you do not like this look you can simply pop a little translucent powder over the top. I have found that this product is best applied directly after applying a foundation and works best over ''''liquid products'''' and then if you wish to you can then powder over the top. I have found that when I have powdered and then apply this over the top it does not blend as well and becomes ''''chunky'''' looking and cakey throughout the day and does not look as natural.
Although this could be used as an everyday product, I personally prefer to save it for something special or nights out etc. I think it really glams up an evening look and can sometimes look a little too much for a daytime look, in which I tend to normally lean towards a powder highlighter.
Overall, I have been really impressed with this product. I like the fact that it stays in place all day and does not need touching up and does not become oily looking throughout the day. I am also really impressed with the shade of this highlighter and can see it suiting many different skin tones. Although I still believe it to be very price at almost £20 I can see this lasting me a very long time as a little really does go a long way and I am even thinking about buying Sun Beam for the summer months now after having loved this product so much! I really would recommend this product and also think it makes a lovely gift for a make up enthusiast as it is something you would not always think of buying yourself and is an easy way to really glamourize a make up look!
