Benefit High Beam
Advantages: Versatile, stays put, excellent sheen
Disadvantages: Is quite pricey
There's no doubt about it, Benefit has become a staple make-up brand in my make-up bag and High Beam has been there since the beginning. High Beam is a satin pink highlighter designed to be used anywhere you want to create a sheen. Like all Benefit products, it's expensive, coming in at £15.50 for the bottle which is around the same size as a large nail polish. It can also be purchased as part of a set including Valley of the Stars and Realness of Concealness which both retail at £22.50 but have 5 smaller products in each. It's not cheap - but I would recommend it if you're a sucker for make-up as it lasts for a long time. I've only ever seen it sold at Selfridges, Boots and Debenhams, but if you are lucky enough to live in London, there are a few shops dedicated to the brand.
High Beam looks very similar to a nail polish including the brush which you can use to apply. It suits all skin tones and can be used in a variety of different areas on the face, in particular the brow bone and cheekbone. It's simply a case of dotting it on and rubbing it in to create the desired effect. I personally use it on my cheeks nearly every day as an alternative to blusher as when it catches the light it really defines them. I have also used it on my browbones when going out to highlight them also. Another tip is to mix it with some foundation to give an all over sheen both on your face, and also - if the mood takes you - down your cleavage. It's highly versatile and with a bit of practice, it can be used to really perk up your skin on a day to day basis. It works very well also to hide hangovers, colds and tiredness - three things which I have a lot of experience with!
High Beam is one of those products which I really can't remember what I did before it came along. It's so easy to use and so versatile and stays put all day. The bottle does look small but I can assure you it does last. It's one make-up product that I would look out for.
Summary: Expensive but well worth it
