Advantages: Natural luster, versatile
Disadvantages: Actual bottle itself may be too bulky to carry around
I got my hands on this beauty from a Benefit Tint Mini Class and hence, only own the mini version of the actual product. The content is exactly the same but the applicator for the Mini is a doe foot type rather than the brush type as in the normal High Beam.
Benefit High Beam is a supermodel in a small bottle; and incidentally this pink pearl liquid highlighter is a secret weapon recommended by numerous MAs. Being of liquid formula, it is rather watery and hence, has a pleasant, natural spread and easy application. High Beam is a shimmer pink formula that gives off opalescent ray. After rubbing it onto the skin, you can see the serene luster reflected from the pearls which also creates an illusion of moisture. However, take care to spread this product carefully as it may end up lumping in places.
High Beam does not get caught in the fine lines on the face and helps the skin look bright and smooth without making it look overdone (unlike other powder type highlighters). The spread of the pearl is very even and thus provides extraordinary sheen. This has to be the reason why High Beam is so popular and has remained so since its launch.
Ideally, High Beam should be used on cheekbones, bridge of the nose, chin as well as the eye area to add volume to the face in addition to accentuate the contours of the face. Another little tip is to dab a little bit on the groove of the upper lip as this helps in distinguishing the shape of the lips. You can also mix a tiny bit of this product with your moisturiser or foundation to spread on the whole face for added radiance of skin. This is especially handy where your skin looks tired and dry as High Beam will instantly transform the skin to look bright and moisturised.
Although my list of methods is by no means exhaustive, this is the last one currently on my list: you may also combine High Beam with other Benefit tints, namely Bene and Posi, to blend into a sheer and lustered blush (draw a heart with High Beam, add a dash of tint inside and blend gently). This should not upset any foundation you are wearing underneath but result in a very natural, gentle flush.
I used to only use cream or powder highlighters, assuming liquid types will be fiddly to use. However, after trying High Beam, I found such liquid highlighters actually came out more natural and applied much more closely to the skin. High Beam certainly complies with the Benefit's fake-it concept by creating an illusion of flawless skin.
Summary: Fake your skin with this dreamy highlighter
