Advantages: Easy to use, lasts ages, gives skin a nice fresh look
Disadvantages: Bottle brush isn't really necessary
As I have very fair, freckly skin I tend to stay out of the sun as much as possible and when I am out in it slather the suncream on. As a result I very rarely have that nice natural sun-kissed look that other people get.
I bought High Beam after a very convincing sales pitch from a Benefit sales assistant in a department store, even though I thought it was quite expensive at £18 for quite a small bottle, it sounded like it would brighten my pale skin up.
It comes in a small glass bottle, with a brush built into the lid, not unlike a bottle of nail polish. Personally, I think the brush is a bit of a waste of time as I always apply it with my fingers. The one, and only, time I used the brush I found it difficult to control the amount of product left on my skin.
That, however, is the only bad thing I have to say about High Beam.
I use it under my eyebrows and across my cheeks usually and it really does give a nice, fresh-looking shimmer to my skin. It doesn't make me look exactly sun-kissed, but it does definitely give my skin a nice dewy (sp??) glow and as it's a really nice light consistency so it doesn't feel greasy or heavy on my skin.
I tend to use it more for when I go out on an evening than for during the day, as I try not to wear too much makeup on a daily basis, but High Beam is a constant in my makeup bag and I never go out for an evening without using it. I usually have to reapply another coat to my cheeks during the course of an evening, especially if I get really warm, but the one application above my eyes usually sees me through a night out. It also comes off easily with my usual make-up removing routine (normally nothing more than a Nivea wipe).
Although I said I initially thought it was expensive (and it is a lot of money for a little bottle) it does last for a very long time and I think it's worth every penny.
Summary: A fab product that makes my skin shimmer with freshness
