“ Brand: Benefit / Type: kit „
I am a huge benefit fan - particularly as I used to work for them. However, I do find these sets a little bit too small a fiddly. Individually I think all of the products are great, and the sizes are good for taking to the gym or popping in your handbag. But in terms of value for money I would always buy the full sized products as you get a lot more product for your money. Some kind of gorgeous is a lightweight colour match foundation. But the amount you get in the set wouldn't give you applications of all over face coverage. California Kissin has a minty flavour and the blue tinge makes you teeth look whiter. I really like wearing this product over Posie tint. Benetint is ok but not my favorite product from benefit and eyecon is a brightening eye cream - but to be honest you would need to apply more regularly than this little bottle allows for to see results. I would say its a great kit - but only as an addition to having the regular sized products.
*This review will contain bits and pieces from my previous reviews - so if some parts look similar thats probably why :]* It will come as no surprise to you if you read my reviews regularly that I have been buying a lot of Benefit sets lately. Id been wanting to try their products out for ages and I thought it was better to try lots of little products so see if any of them were good - it has saved me a lot of money! This 'Benefit Justine Case' set was the one I had really wanted to try out for a long time because the products in it simply appealed to me the most. When Ive been on a night out rather than go home I nearly always end up sleeping on a mates sofa or sometimes on the floor [it has been known!!] and thats brilliant ... until the morning when I wake up and look awful with no make-up around to make me look any better. Thats the reason I wanted this little set because it seemed like it would fit my needs perfectly after a long night out! I have to say Ive been slightly disappointed. Useful Information: Price - I got this for just under £10 but prices vary greatly on Benefit sets depening where you buy them from. So shop around!! Stockists: Amazon, Boots, Debenhams & the Benefit website. Other Info: This set includes: Some Kinda Gorgeous Foundation Faker, Benetint, Eyecon & Californial Kissin' - you will also get a small insruction manual on how to apply each product and an ingredients list for all of them. Its a handy little set as it contains a product for each part of your face. - - - - - - - - - - The Packaging: Bigger isnt always better girls! This set is very small and super cute but the small size actually works better here as it makes the set much easier to transport and carry around - perfect for the reason I bought it - I mainly use this while out and about rather than when Im getting ready at home. This comes in a small purple/red box with the image of a black and white woman on the front - very retro and it really stand out from the colourful box. On the front and back of the box is some minimal information - brand & product name, list of products inside & the weights of each product inside. Thats not too much information but the rest is on printed sheets inside the set. There is also a cardboard sleeve over the top of the box which is the same in design and is just there to ensure your set wont fly open in your bag and to ensure all the products inside stay fresh and usable. The box is opened and closed with a magnetic strip that is concealed on the inside and cant be seen at all - great in my opinion as that would ruin the design I think. The inside colours remind me of an old wallpaper from the 60's or something as it is a massive pattern in yellow and purple and it is very cool. On the top part of the set is a small mirror which makes this even more of an out & about essential - it does get dirty quite quickly but it is very easy to clean so thats not a major problem for me. At the bottom of the set is the products - the 3 tubes - Benetint, Eyecon & Calafornia Kissin' - are in a row on one side and the Some Kinda' Gorgeous is embedded in a small square into the set - the amount of products you get is quite small. But again I use this lon the go and as more of a touch up than my everyday make-up so I dont think the small size is a real problem in this case - in fact for me its an advantage. On the inside is also a small plastic cover to make sure your things stay put and dont go off or anything - that gets VERY dirty but like the mirror it does clean very easily so I dont see that as a problem. In this case small is much better!! - - - - - - - - - - Now Ill write a little section on each product in the set - dont worry I wont post the whole reviews as they can be found here on Dooyoo anyway - just the important parts: 'Benetint' Application for this tint is simple enough - you apply this to lips like you would a normal lipgloss and if your applying to your cheeks you simply brush a few light strokes onto the apples of your cheeks and then rub in. Couldnt be easier. The brush for this is very soft and flexible which means you can apply with absolute precision to either cheeks or lips so applying this is very easy. This liquid is quite runny so start rubbing it in as soon as you apply it to your face because otherwise it will drip and then you will have a face that looks as if your melting which again is not a good look! But because it is so runny that makes it easy to rub in and the colour seems to blend easily. This seemed like it blended well at first and it gave my cheeks a flushed look which I do think is very sexy. Then sadly my natural rosy cheeks kicked in and the red shade ended up making me look like a circus clown, my cheeks were literally bright red. Sadly applying this to my lips wasnt much better - for a start this tastes VILE! This is perfect for 'english roses' but not for people who - like me - are naturally rosy! - - - - - - - - - - 'Eyecon' To apply this is so simple you could probably do it without a mirror. You simply get the applicator ith some cream on it and either dab a few small dots underneath your eyes or one light swipe underneath each eye and then rub into your skin. This cream comes out quite runny and bubbly and then when you rub it into your skin while it doesnt weigh down your eye area or make it feel uncomfortable it does make it feel slightly sticky. That isnt a problem I guess unless someones touching your eyes but I can feel the odd texture so its irritating for me to wear this alongside other make-up or by itself, its a gooey feeling 'cream'. Sadly the results of this for me are very poor - which isnt something I normally say about Benefit products. I dont really see any kind of difference in my dark circles or bags after I apply this and the fine lines I do have around my eyes are still noticable and dont look more filled in at all. If this does make a difference it is so minor than I cant even notice - I have to wear a tonne of make-up alongside this to get rid of the circles which kind of renders this cream a bit pointless for me as I wanted it for days when I wasnt wearing much other make up. I wont be buying this one again! - - - - - - - - - - 'California Kissin' Gloss' The gloss goes on evenly and doesnt go all over your face when you apply it using the tube so my advice is dont faff around using a brush. The gloss itself is normal consistency - looks nice and runny but isnt and isnt so thick you cant get it out the tube and dont worry even though this is said to have a blue tinge (to make your teeth appear whiter) the gloss is totally clear to the naked eye - well maybe a slight shimmer but thats it! I love the way this looks on my lips when I use it alone. I think this gives me the perfect polished pout look as my lips look proper glossy but feel really hydrated and moisturised at the same time - I dont find may glosses that do that. The mintiness is a very nice change and I believe it actually does help t freshen your breath great if your out and about and have forgotten the chewing gum and although you can only smell/taste the mint for a few minutes I believe it does carry on working after that. Sadly though I dont think this helps give the illusion that I have whiter teeth. Although I have been a smoker for many years and a regular coffee and fizzy pop drinker my teeth arent that stained so they dont need too much help to look whiter and they looked the same to me when I used this so in short I dont think this did live up to all its promises. I quite liked this one so I would buy it again - even though not every aspect works! - - - - - - - - - - 'Some Kinda' Gorgeous Foundation Faker' To apply this is very simple as its exactly the same as a normal foundation. I like to put a small amount on several parts of my face and then rub in - starting at the bottom of my face and working up. But you can apply this to only certain areas of your face as well as all over and you can blend it in any order you wish - I an just set in my ways when it comes to applying foundation. The texture of this does appear very hard when its in the square and does feel a little thicker than my normal foundation but it also feels very creamy and does soften up a lot as soon it comes into contact with your warm hands/fingers. And less is definitely more in this case - too much will make it so much harder to blend and I think it will leave you looking really cakey and orange so dont use too much and this will give you the best results. This does keep my face looking really natural, it blends easily, and it lasts all day long without fading at all. However I dont think the coverage of this is as good as my usual foundation which isnt a problem all the time but when Im having a bad skin day I think I need something a little more than this but thankfully that doesnt happen too often so I cant complain. Id buy this one again for sure - Im going to try and find it a bit cheaper though! - - - - - - - - - - Advantages [Of the set as a whole]: * Gorgeous packaging. * Ease of transportation & esy to use on the move. * I would 100% buy 2 of the products again. * A product for each part of your face. * Get to try out quite a few products without spending shed loads. - - - - - - - - - - Disadvantages [Of the set as a whole]: * I dont like half the products in this set. * Half the products in the set dont work on my skin. * I still lost money on this because I dont use all the items in the set. * The inside of the set gets VERY dirty each time you use it - but maybe Im just messy at applying foundation. - - - - - - - - - - Which products would I buy again [seperatly from the set]: * California Kissin' Gloss * Some Kind Gorgeous Foundation Faker So only half the products Id ever use again - thats bad for a Benefit set in my opinion. - - - - - - - - - - I do recommend this set because of its ease of use and that you can use this whenever for whatever as it does contain something for everything. Sadly not all the products worked for me so I cant give this a really high rating - just 3*'s from me sadly because the Benetint & Eyecon are just awful so I dont use half of the set. Its cute and cheap though so this would make a great gift for a woman in your life! Thanks For Reading. x0 Salz 0x
Benefit are a retro inspired brand that do a vast array of products which are really high quality and produce good results. Their cosmetic counters can be found in department stores like Debenhams, John Lewis and Selfridges as well as in larger boots stores. Their counters are always vibrant looking and eye catching with a number of testers which just draw you in! I have always found their consultants to be very helpful as well as being well presented and pleasant. One of the consultants in my local store pointed out this product to me after explaining that I was going on holiday. I was aware that they do quite a few 'sets' with 3 or 4 different products in one, which is really useful. Despite needing something compact for my holiday, I am always on the move and rarely have time to do my make up properly in the mornings, and you can guarantee that half the time I forget to take my make up bag out with me to finish it off! This product contains 4 products which are Benetint, a cheek and lip stain, California kissin' which is a lip gloss, claiming to make your teeth whiter and brighter as well as giving you glossy lips, Eyecon and Some kind-a Gorgeous which you can use to get rid of imperfections and blemishes. All of the products within this case are smaller than the ones you would get if you bought them individually, however at around £22, although it isn't cheap you're almost paying for the convenience of having all these products in one place. I have the full size bottle of Benetint, which half persuaded me to buy this product because its so good and I find it works really well and compliments my skin. I never put it into my make up bag because I was worried it would leek, but I feel much more confident with it in this compact. To make it even better, it comes with a small mirror so you can apply the products while you're on the go, perfect! To top it all off, it comes in cute packaging which is small enough to fit in anyones handbag, which for me, makes it well worth the price. The products are really good quality and easy to use. In particular I found that California kissin' supported its claim to make teeth appear whiter as for me, they appeared brighter all day, the colour of the lipgloss seems to reflect to give a whiter glow. I was considering buying a teeth whitening product, but now I have this I don't need to! As previously mentioned I already have Benetint and I find that gives a really natural blush to your cheeks without looking false which I have experienced in the past and only a small amount needs to be used each time. Eyecon worked a treat in getting rid of my tired looking eyes in the mornings after not sleeping properly, it covers and bags really easily without having to apply too much. Similarly, Some kind-a Gorgeous worked extremely well in covering up spots and I have a few red patches which can be difficult to cover as they normally show through, but this worked perfectly. Justine Case is certainly an ideal and convenient product to use and although the bottles of product aren't full size, they still last a long time. I have had this for a few months now with use regularly and still have a lot left. And just for the record, it worked wonders and saved so much time while I was on holiday!
The Benefit Justine Case Kit is designed for those times when maybe we just need a little make-up touch up or maybe some gloss at a last minute event. So as the name suggests, this product is like a saftey measure - Just in case. The kit includes - california kissin lip shine, eyecon brightening cream, benetint lip & cheek stain some kind-a-gorgeous foundation faker This is a handbag must have! The gloss has a blue tint which also makes teeth appear whiter and also a mint scent that will also act as a breath freshener - GENIOUS!! The eyecon brightening cream can be applied over or under make up to hide dark circles and also in general just brightener our complexion. The lip and cheek stain is a multi-tasking product that adds a little colour to both lips and cheeks, acting as a gloss/ lipstick and a blusher. The best thing I found about the kit is the foundation faker product at the side. This is perfect for concealing through the day or also putting a small amount of product on instead of a full face of foundation. All this and a mirror in the lid :-) The product as with any Benefit make up is slightly more expensive than other high street brands. It can retail anywhere from £20-£29. It is best to shop around to get the best price. One thing I would like to state is the extent of Fake products out there. It is best to buy from an approved retailer rather than places such as Ebay, this way you can be 100% sure the item is genuine. It may seem a little pricey as the overall product isn't huge, however I think it makes a nice little treat for someone or maybe a treat for yourself. I like the idea of all these essentials in one pack. Just pop this in your handbag and you can feel confident all day knowing you have lots of multi-tasking products if you need them. As Benefit make up is a well know more expesive brand we are also buying quality. All the products have great staying power and last for hours on end. Overall I would definately suggest this anyone as a little treat or just as a handbag essential - JUST IN CASE!
I ended up first buying Benefit's Justine Case on an airplane when I realised I left my makeup in my suitcase, and I haven't looked back. It's dinky enough to fit in a small "going out" bag, and the box is durable enough to live in my makeup bag. The "some kinda gorgeous" foundation is fantastic for touch-ups when you're on the go, the "benetint" cheek and lip tint keeps your lips nice and rosy when ordinary lipstick would have worn off, the little tube of "eyecon" works wonders for hiding those annoying dark shadows, and the "california kissin" lipgloss is just delicious! To top it all off, the little mirror built into the box makes this product just perfect. A little goes a long way with all of the products in this handy little kit, so even though there's not much in the box, it should last a while. Plus, the packaging is just so pretty! Benefit's Justine Case is an asset to any girl's makeup arsenal.
I actually tried this after it was recommended in a magazine by Colleen Rooney...a little bit sad maybe i know! but i actually love Benifit products anyway so i did'nt need much encouraging i paid £29 for it and was im sorry to say a little dissapointed by it. The cheek stain is fantastic have actually bought the full size version of it since but the other products just did not do it for me, the foundation i found a little on the dry side which you will find with a lot of solid foundations the eyecom cream was ok but its not really something i use, the lip gloss is great it make's your teeth look whiter and you smell like you have just brushed your teeth( not a bad thing) i just felt overall it was just ok i was absolutly taken in by the beautifull packaging that it comes in, and i am a sucker for anything that looks good on the dressing table, i just would say that overall it was not worth £29 of my hard earned cash
I was given this as a present for my birthday last year and it has been brilliant to keep in my bag for those emergencies when you leave your make-up bag at home. It is a good way to try out some of the benefit products available as the kit contains 3 small versions of some of their best selling products. The case itself is a small, sturdy rectangle and has a magnetic fastening on the side that clips nicely into place. There is also a cover to slide over this to help protect the box itself which says 'Justine case' on the top (just in case). On the inside is a small mirror which is useful for applying the products more accurately. Inside there is a small version of benetint which in my opinion is one of the best benefit products they sell. It is a gorgeous pinky red and is suitable for all skin tones as the intensity of the colour depends on how much is applied each time and can be layered to create a more intense colour. The next mini product is eyecon which is put under the eye to brighten the area and to create a more flawless look. It has a nice cooling sensation when applied and lasts a long time. The other tube is the California Kissin' lipgloss which is strange to use at first but the feeling becomes more plesant with more usage. The blue colour does not really show up when applied to lips and it contains small glitter particles which catch the light well. It has an intense minty scent and feels like a lip plumper but I'm not sure if it actually makes my lips any bigger. In the set is a foundation/concealer however there are no colour options to choose from when buying this product. It doesn't go on particularly evenly and is suited to an olivy complextion which is far too dark for me. Overall, this is a brilliant set to keep in your handbag for little touch ups but if you do not have olive skin, you will need to keep a tube of concealer with it!
The Benefit Justine Case is the perfect gift for your gal pals or other women in your life. The handy little box complete with mirror is the perfect size for your handbag. The cute little products inside are just mini versions of a few of Benefits essential items that you may need in an emergency to touch up your make up and freshen your face. The Benetint is one of my favorite Benefit products. It can be used on your cheeks as well as lips. I prefer to use the tint on my lips as it gives me long lasting just been kissed colour. I then top it off with the California Kissin' lipgloss. Combined with the Benetint it works well to brighten your smile and the peppermint flavour will freshen your breath. The Some Kinda Gorgeous foundation and Eye Con under eye concealer is perfect for hiding those blemishes and dark circles in minutes. The perfect beauty first aid kit no hand bag should be without.
This little kit - which comes in the distinctively quirky and retro Benefit packaging - is the ideal quick-fixer to take with you on the move. The kit includes a palette of Some Kinda Gorgeous foundation, which was very good at a quick cover-up for my olive skin tone, but may be too light or dark for others. Then comes three mini tubes of Benefit favourites Eyecon, California Kissin' lipgloss and Benetint. Of these, the lip gloss is by far my favourite, with its unusual but very fresh peppermint hit. It's really shiny and glossy and has great staying power. Benetint, which is a Benefit favourite with many people, is a nice little product and a little goes a long way. I do like the little brush applicator, which makes it really easy to 'paint' a little dab onto cheeks and blend in. The under eye cream is probably my least favourite of the four products in this little set, although it is quite good at giving a bit of coverage for any dark circles. My only complaint - it is quite pricey for these quite small products, but do shop around as prices vary from site to site!
This was my first ever Benefit make-up that I got. I actually received it as a freebie with a set of expensive hair straighteners. I had heard about Benefit and knew they had an excellent reputation, however, being a student am very limited on what I call 'Luxury Money', so couldn't afford the enormous price tags of the high end make-up. I opened up the Justine Case (which looked gorgeous with the funky/retro packaging) unknowingly to be amazed. What I found was a mini cake of light foundation (perfect for my complexion) and three mini bottles. The first thing I tried from the gorgeous set was the foundation. I unfortunately suffer from blemishes and need to wear foundation everyday to minimise the appearance of pores and blemishes. I found out the creamy foundation is actually called 'some-kinda-gorgeous' which is an excellent name for it as it smoothed on to my skin silkily and covered all problem areas I found. I then turned my attention to the infamous 'Benetint' which I am now a huge fan of and can't be without. I applied this first to my lips as I was a bit nervous of looking like an Aunt Sally if I applied it to my cheeks. The Benetint put a stunning glow on my lips which actually put more of a natural flush on to my lips rather than making them look like a Christina Aguilera pout, which is not attractive on me! I slicked the California Kissin' over the top of the Benetint. I was very apprehensive of the striking blue shade of the lip gloss, but it complimented the Benetint perfectly and the minty freshness made me instantly confident. After a few days I got up the courage to try the Benetint on my cheeks. I applied as advised, (3 stripes along the cheeks), and gently rubbed in to my skin quickly, as Benetint is a stain if you do not rub in straight away you're left with 3 stripes along your cheekbones! It gave me a very gently glow, which complemented my English rose complexion perfectly, (I have also found out it is perfect with a tan as well for the summer). The final little bottle was what is called 'eye-con'. After reading about it on the Benefit website, it claimed to minimise the appearance of under eye dark circles. I put three dots on the dark circles I had (after a frantic work filled all-nighter!), and patted it in. I was amazed to see that the circles were reduced considerably! I then applied the some-kinda-gorgeous and this covered the rest of the imperfection perfectly. I then went on to buying all these products in the normal sizes, (or asked for them as birthday presents!), and now use Justine Case to chuck in my make-up bag/handbag as it is perfect for on the go touch-ups and excellent for night's out as it is the perfect size, and would thoroughly recommend to anyone.
JUSTINE CASE is a beautifully presented 'just in case' touch up set, for keeping in your bag or car. This set is housed in a thick card box, with a magnetic fastening. It has a mirror in the lid. It is a wonderful way to test out Benefit's bestsellers without having to invest in the full size products. So what does this cute kit contain? 'Eyecon'; Benefit's fantastic eye cream (one of my favourite products from Benefit) which really doesfades under eye circles Benefit's bestseller 'Benetint'; a sensational rose-colored cheek and lip tint. 'California Kissin' lip gloss. The gloss is tinted blue for a brighter smile and it has a minty fragrance. [For me this is a so-so product. I use it, but I won't buy a new tube when I run out]. 'Some Kind-a Gorgeous'. This is a tinted cream-to-powder skin perfecter. It feels lovely; it's so smooth and it evens out your skin tone. A perfect alternative to foundation or powder. [Yes, it feels wonderful and it's easy to apply, but it isn't made for pale girls (like me) or for darker skin tones]. I won't be repurchasing JUSTINE CASE myself. This is down to the pan of 'Some Kind-a Gorgeous'.
The Benefit 'Justine Case' contains 4 mini products from the Benefit range; Eyecon, Benetint, California Kissin lipgloss and Some Kinda Gorgeous foundation. This is a perfect kit for nights out or weekends away as it's a perfect handbag sized box. It also has a built in mirror on the lid for on-the-go touch-ups. The products themselves are just sample sized counterparts to the larger Benefit products. Benetint is a red liquid used as a cheek and lip tint and I actually prefer the brush on this to the full sized bottle as it's softer and wider so you get less of a 'streeky' effect when you apply it. Eyecon is an undereye 'debagger' but I find it completely ineffective and pointless (see separate review), also as it's a cream it's difficult to get it out of the bottom of the little tube using the applicator. California Kissin is a fantastic little lipgloss, it has a bit of a blue sparkle but it's not overly noticeable and looks great over benetinted lips! It also has a great minty scent but no icky taste, it's not too sticky either so you don't get your hair stuck to your face! This is definitely my favourite product in the kit. Some Kinda Gorgeous is a 'foundation faker', it goes on creamy but sets like powder. Unfortunately the shade in my kit is far too dark on my pale skintone but the product itself seems great from just testing it out at home and I'd love to be able to use it. Overall this is a little pricey (£22) just for 4 sample sized products but you can pick it up online for about half that which is quite reasonable. I think this is a great kit for carrying around for mid-day fix-ups and for trying products that you like the look of without splashing out on the full-sized ones right away.
A long time lover of make up I frequently try out new products form various brands and Benefit is one of my all time favorites. Benefit create these novelty packs for many of their items and they never fail to impress me, I just can not resist. The foundation/concealer works wonders on my skin, it is quite thick when applied and needs a little rubbing in but creates a lovely coverage of any blemishes. It is a little greasy but has never caused break outs on my problem skin as many other brands seem to. The benetint is a personal favorite and I have since bought the full size tint in this shade I love it so much. You apply the tint like a lip gloss but it is like water to apply. You do not need much at all to get a very strong colour and so this tint lasts a long time. The colour lasts a long time and does not fade through the day but the danger is putting too much on. I use the tint on my lips as well a lot. Overall a great product and this would make a great present for any girly girl. The price is the only let down but you do have to pay for such quality.
Another wounderful invention from Benefit. I must admit Im bit of a benefit junkie... having tried most make up out there I have now setteled with benefit, its airey, fun and long lasting. Benefits 'just in case' kit comes with 'kinda gorgeous' which leaves you with a flawless complexion (bit like a foundation, but leaves your skin feeling silkey); benetint for rosy lips & cheeks (amazing bluser and lipstick in one!!! this does take a bit of getting used to, in as much as I found it weird putting liquid on my lips..... but it really does work, in the bottle it looks super bright, but on your lips it looks just stunning! and then lastly it has california kissin' for a bright smile & minty breath - this lip balm, makes your lips tingle and sparkle in a way no other lip glass does. I think this kits is perfect just to pop in your handbag.... for those 'just in case moments.... Im a midwife, and I keep this in my locker, so i can always look fresh!!! its an abserlute must for an woman working long hours and wanting to still look there best!
Benefit Justine Case; literally a wow in the smallest box. when the word benefit it mentioned, i dont think anyone would disagree that it was a bad make. its so well known and lovely, everyone wants a product made by them. unfortunatly the price is the tricky bit! well for me this is, i cant afford all these prices nowadays! though i got this little treasure with my ghds, in a set. im glad i did receive it as works wonders. the little box contains: Some Kinda Gorgeous Foundation (flawless finish foundation), Benetint (plum coloured lip & cheek stain), California Kissin' (minty lipgloss) & Eyecon (brightening eye cream). you can tell its going to be amazing by the names.. ok to start with the foundation you get is perfect for covering small blemishes and my devilish freckles! without making you look completely covered. its a nice colour aswell, and has a smooth texture. the 'Benetint' is so cute, and what a handy little tool. its simple, dab and rub in to find yourself with cute pink cheeks. (but be warned not to use to much, dont want to look to ott!) the 'California Kissin' tastes so nice! its like toothpaste making your breathe smell nice aswell, which does come in handy also. it makes your lips tingle though, which actually is a nice sensation.. and finally the 'Eyecon' this basicly makes your undereye bags disappear and brighten up, this is useful after a late night sleep or a hectic night before. ANOTHER final good point about this product, is that its small! surely im not the only girl carrying around insanely small bags. so definatly overall this product is one to buy! its seriously worth the money!
Includes: some kinda gorgeous for flawless complexion; benetint for rosy lips & cheeks and california kissin' for a bright smile & minty breath /
