******General Concealer Information******
In a desperate bid to hide those pesky shadows under my eyes, which even Fake Tan cannot shift - whilst shopping for super new skin miracle products and already positioned at the lovely Benefit counter. I also spied the wonderful "Lemon Aid".

Anything that offered solace to me regarding the aforementioned eye shadows immediately piqued my interest. And a lightweight concealer specifically designed to target the pesky eye shadows was worth further investigation.

Concealers are essentially a product designed to eliminate and camouflage skin imperfections including under eye shadows, birth marks, spots and anything else that the user wishes to "conceal". The idea is that Concealers can be used to create a blank canvas with which to build make up upon, whilst banishing all that we are keen to hide.

Concealers can be liquid based or a creamy consistency and it depends upon the user as to which one would be most beneficial.

Liquid Concealers are usually more suited to banishing eye shadows, bruises and blemishes whilst solid creamier textured concealers tend to be more user friendly for general overall skin tone improvements.

But in this instance the creamier option of Lemon-aid proved to be better suited to my purposes.

******Packaging******
Benefit's Lemon Aid is packaged in a small round shiny black case, with a clip function on the outside which is very easy to use and a small compact mirror on the inside of the case. The bottom layer of the case contains the Lemon-Aid which is approximately 3-4 centimetres deep and the creamy concealer is neatly embedded into the bottom layer of the case.

The Case is sleek, minimal, functional and very user friendly and the concealer stays neatly in the compact. There is no applicator attached with the emphasis being on the user to apply the product with a brush or fingertips.

******Application******
The Application of Lemon Aid is very straightforward, it really is a case of dabbing the lightweight creamy concealer onto your fingertips.

The Cream is neither greasy nor powdery and Benefit have managed to get the texture absolutely right. Once the concealer is on the fingertips the next stage is to apply the product to the eye area - I used the concealer on both the dreaded under eye shadows and on top of my eyelids so that the concealer acts as a base with which to apply the eyeshot on top of, although I think the concealer can be used as a stand alone alternative to eye shadow due to the light consistency an brightening effect the product has upon the eyes..

The Product itself is simple to use and generally quite effective.

The Concealer is cream based but doesn't feel heavy or greasy and absorbs very rapidly without leaving a powdery or cakey residue

The colour in the compact is a light almost pastel yellow which can initially be quite off-putting but upon application the concealer turns to a light, slightly yellow almost translucent colour. Although whilst being "fake tanned" the concealer did stand out slightly on the eyelids against the tan orange hue.

The Concealer definitely brightened the eye area and once eye shadow had been applied the concealer lasted for at least 4 hours with the prevention of the dreaded eye shadow creasing. My Eye make up lasted longer throughout the ay before re-application but the only downside was that after an hour the concealer did cover the eye shadows but tended to congregate around my wrinkly area which thus served to highlight the wrinkles. But aside from Botox treatment I think I shall have to learn to live with the wrinkles.

*****Value for Money*****
I would consider this reasonable value for money, but I am sure that there are cheaper alternatives available. Perhaps a younger customer with a less wrinkled eye area would appreciate the radiant and skin brightening effects without the congregation of concealer around the wrinkly eye area after an hour has lapsed.

The product definitely lightened the eye are and is in fact a very good concealer but just not the best that I have tried.

*****Benefit Background*****
