Advantages: Eyes look brighter and more awake! Eyeshadow will stay on until you remove it!

Disadvantages: Quite expensive, can be drying if you haven't moisturised before hand.

Recently I have discovered that my teenage lifestyle of late nights has taken its toll on my skin but mostly my eyes! I find that I suffer from a lot of redness and dark circles that concealer alone is not combating! I tried loads of remedies from cucumber to teaspoons and nothing seemed to be working, until I came across a little beauty in the form of Benefit Lemon Aid Corrector & Eyelid Primer!

The packaging was the first thing that caught my eye and drew me over to investigate in the isle of Boots. A bright square yellow box, (a little like something you would find tablets in) with black edges adorning a stitched effect. The whole box is covered in faint pale yellow blobs acting as the lemons! In bold black writing is the brand name Benefit and the product name Lemon Aid. Very simple, yet very effective! I love having my Lemon Aid in my bag when I go out as it is such a gorgeous item! Once you open the box a little black compact is presented to you, it's sturdy and strong so you know its not going to break if your ditzy like me and drop it! The compact opens up easily to reveal a mirror - an aspect I absolutely LOVE because I always forget to bring a separate mirror with me when I am going out, so if I bring this primer I know I will have a mirror too - sort of a two for one! In the pan the primer looks a sort of soft, pale, pastel yellow with a slight sheen.

Application could not be simpler, running your finger across the product it feels like a balm but once you dab it onto your eyelid and smooth it in all the way up to the brow bone, it starts to take on a different texture - almost chalky, so I would make sure that you have moisturised first or it could set and become patchy. However once on my eyes look brighter, lighter and more awake! I like to apply a small amount under my eyes too before I use concealer as I find it hides all discolouration extremely well! Taking it off is as easy as putting it on, I used one make up remover wipe and it glided off effortlessly!

Lemon Aid is a brilliant eyeshadow primer too! I don't tend to wear a lot of eyeshadow, but on a night out I enjoy a smokey eye as much as the next girl, so I was looking forward to using this as my base! And I am glad I did - my eye make up stayed put ALL night long and in photos it still looked as though I had just put it on at 2 in the morning!

If your tired of looking tired then get yourself down to a Benefit counter and buy this bad boy of a primer - you will not regret it! One downside would be the price at £16.50 it is quite steep however I have had mine for months now and it has not even gone through to the bottom of the pan - plus the mirror is very handy when you feel you've been caught short!

Available at Boots, Debenhams, Harrods, Selfridges and any shop that caters for the Benefit lovers out there! As well as most online make up stores.

Summary: Gorgeous primer and eye brightener - you won't believe your eyes. Literally!
