Advantages: It moisturizes.

Disadvantages: It doesn't plump. Its a horrid mustardy flesh colour. Its expensive. It's without merit.

I love Benefit as a brand. I have loads of Benefit products and, on the whole, I am generally very happy and pleased with what I buy. I bought the Lip Plump from the Benefit counter at Cavendish House (House of Fraser) and it cost me £14 for a 2.5g tube. Yes, it was expensive.......ALL Benefit products tend to be expensive....but I do generally find that the products last ages and therefore I do find that they are not as expensive as they may first appear.

Lip Plump comes in a transparent glass tube and so through the tube you can see the lip plump solution that looks like a really dark flesh colour, although somewhat shimmery. At one end of the tube is a screw top, attached to which is a lipstick applicator which, believe it or not, is what is used to apply the lip plump to your lips. It was easy to apply in a thin layer to my top and bottom lip - and then I sat back and waited for plump, lushious lips.....

and I waited.....

and I waited....

and NOTHING. Nothing happened. My lips did not plump and they did not look lushious - and infact they didn't look any different at all, apart from being a little more shimmery and glossy. Having said that, even the shimmer is a bit of an odd colour....like a mustardy / fleshy colour, which, to be honest, isn't a look that I'd ever be aiming for! When lipstick was applied over the top, then the colour was no longer apparent, but I'm still a bit at a loss as to what this product is supposed to do.

I have used "lip plumper's" in the past which, when I've applied them, they have made my lips tingle....and at least give the impression that it is doing something. I actually love that tingly feeling! But with this, there was nothing at all....and it seemed no more useful than placing vaseline on my lips. It did seem to act as a lip moisturizer, but then I can buy a perfectly adequate lip moisturizer for considerably less than £14.

So....in short....this product is less than rubbish. This product does not just not live up to expectations, but, as far as I can see, it actually doesn't do anything at all. If you have £14 to throw down the drain then go for it, but personally, I'd rather save my money.

Summary: Completely useless and pointless product.
