Advantages: Gives you fuller looking lips;
Disadvantages: Expensive frivolity;better on darker shade lipsticks
Yes, I love Benefit, they sell the kinds of products that no-one really desperately needs, but if you can afford them they are a nice frivolity. Often though they look so nice you really don't want to use them. "Benefit Lip Plump" is definitely another one of these nice but not essential items. I actually read a review on the product in a magazine and decided to buy it with some gift vouchers that I had for House of Fraser. Lip plump aims to give you lovely even more kissable lips (ok i've been paying far too much attention to the hype!!).The product isn't actually made to plump your lips up physically, rather is is made to give the illusion of bigger, plumper lips.A cheaper, albeit cheating way of avoiding collagen implants?? "Lip plump" is a light fleshy/foundation coloured liquid that you apply to your lips with the little sponge that accompanies it in its box before you actually put on any lipstick. It acts as what I can only describe as lip polyfilla as it fills in any lines and cracks in you lips to give them a more even look all over and therefore make them appear plumper even though in reality there is no difference. When the "filla" has dried you can then apply your lipstick as normal over the top.I used this product initially with some scepticism, however, It certainly seemed to make some difference to my lips, they looked smoother for sure. It also didn't have a too offensive taste to it, althought I wouldn't recommend trying it either :O) I read in another opinion that it doesn't work so well with lighter shades of lipstick, I however only ever wear darker shades so cannot comment on that as I have never experienced any problems. Saying that though, I have recently started wearing a lot of lipgloss and I don't think that I would apply that straight onto the "filla" as I would my naturally bare lips. You will live without Benefit Lip Plump
I have no doubt. However, if you are feeling wealthy and want to induldge in something then try this or any other Benefit product for that matter.

- 05/03/01 After reading all your Benefit ops, I think I'll be heading to Frasers tomorrow to see what it is like.
And the fact that I just got £30 of Frasers gift vouchers for my birthday has nothing to do with it :-) |
