      Advantages

      Disadvantages

You will be over the moon with this!

Moonbeam. Sounds like one of those radical, hippy names from the swinging sixties! But in this case it's the illuminator/ highlighter that I had been waiting to get my hands on! Ever since I started using the Benefit lip and cheek tints, I became obsessed with the brand and how amazing their products were - yes they are high priced, but they have an outstanding high quality to make it worth the guilty splurge! Having said that I was slightly disappointed in the Benefit Highbeam as it was too pink and glittery for me - so I was very excited when I heard about Moonbeam - a more yellow toned highlighter that would suit my complexion to the ground!

So what is Moonbeam you may be asking yourself. Well it is a 'golden apricot' creamy liquid that illuminates your face when applied to the cheek and brow bones (or anywhere you like for that matter!) It adds a 'warm shimmer' to your complexion and looks 'perfectly radiant' on all skin tones and skin types. Benefit claim that it is their 'legendary facial highlighter' and tell us to use it 'strategically' to create moonlight radiance about the face. I could feel myself glowing just researching it and could not wait to try!

I will warn you it is quite expensive at £18.50 and not a massive bottle (which I was expecting for the price) as it only contains 11ml of product. This did put me off a tiny bit as I did not want to waste 20 quid on something that may sit in the back of my make up drawer and never see the light of day! However I relented and decided to purchase. The packaging is very simplistic but also very stylish and some what unique. It comes in an apricot, rectangular box, with a silhouetted pale moon shape around the brand name - Moonbeam, which adorns the middle in bold black lettering. On the back are the ingredients and a bit about the product. Once you open up the box, you are greeted with your little ray of Moonbeam! Again, the design is very simple and minimal but very affective and attractive with the bottle looking very similar to a nail varnish or the cheek and lip tints that Benefit do. It's the colour of the product itself which is a gorgeous golden, pale caramel pink with the name across the front. When you take off the black plastic lid, you notice that the brush applicator makes it more and more like a nail varnish - it would be a lovely colour one too!

There are a couple of ways to apply this depending on the desired look you are after. They are as follows:

For defined highlighting - Apply your foundation as usual then using the brush in the lid, draw a line along your cheekbones, your brown bones, the side of your nose and your cupids bow. These points on your face will illuminate when hit by light and make you appear more awake, thinner and even younger! Using circular motions blend the lines in with your fingers until you feel happy with it.

I love using this product in this way as it is not too over the top and looks very natural. I find it blends in with my skin tone and m foundation extremely well - much better than the pinkness of Highbeam. There is a small amount of shimmer and glitter but nothing too over the top.

For an all over glow: Mix a blob of Moonbeam in with your foundation before you apply it. This way only really works well with liquid foundations as it mixes together and becomes one - just like the Spicegirls song! One pump of foundation to one blob of Moonbeam - mix in well and apply as you normally would with a brush, sponge or your fingers.

This look will give you a glowing complexion all over - not just in certain defined places. I tend not to wear it in this way as I find it makes me too shiny and shimmery all over and sort of defeats the purpose. However when I have a tan, I apply some all over my face and it really sets it off and makes my skin more radiant and refreshed.

For glowing eyes: Mix a little of Moonbeam in with your concealer and use as you normally would - around the peepers! I tried this a few times and my eyes looked so much better for it! However don't forget and use your concealer on acne as shimmer spots are never desired!

For a natural glow: Wear on its own! Make sure you apply primer or foundation before and the pin point the areas that need a little light and apply. Be careful not to apply too much as it does not have very full coverage and if you try and build it up to foundation level you will resemble a disco ball!

As you can see there are many ways to wear this product but it is all up to you as to how you personally get on with it. Whatever way you decide, you will love this highlighter! It makes my skin look healthier and is much more natural than Highbeam as it is more of a skin toned colour rather than pink!

I would recommend to anyone who wants a sun kissed glow that looks natural and beautiful! You can purchase at Boots or Boots.com as well as any stores that have a Benefit counter. It does come with a hefty price tag but I would recommend it as it lasts for ages! Although it isn't a necessity, I would only buy this when I had some cash to spare or as a gift as the price is far too expensive to keep on buying.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        A star of a product.

I have used this product one and off for a number of years now and absolutely love it. I tend to find benefit products can be a little hit or miss, but ones I do like are firm favourites I purchase again and again.

This is essentially a shimmer or highlighter product which you can apply to several areas in your face to achieve a highlighted look. I tend to use it on my cheek bones, bridge of my nose and under my eyebrows to add a little shimmer and definition.

The product comes in what is best described as a nail varnish style bottle. It is made of glass and has a plastic twist lid which comes off to reveal a stick with my brush on the end much like the ones you get in a nail varnish. You basically dot it onto your skin where you want it and then rub it in accordingly.

I find that it rubs in really easily and gives an instant little shine to your skin. It has the effect of brightening your skin, giving definition to these areas of your face and smoothing the skin. It also gives the impression of light, flawless skin that looks dewy and fresh. I find I tend to use it specifically when I am going somewhere special to enhance the look of my make up and to add a little shine. I have a cheaper highlighter I use for everyday so I prefer to save this more expensive and superior one for special occasions.

I think generally the design of the bottle and the quality of the highlighter formula is of the highest standard I have come across for this kind of product. It gives a great look to my skin, enhances my make up and lasts all night with no need for a second application.

It also lasts for absolutely ages. I don't use it everyday but do use it consistently for special occasions or nights out, probably once a week or every two weeks. I have been using this product for well over 3 years and it has still not run out yet. As it does dwindle it makes it harder to get the remnants out of the pot but, because it is glass, you can see inside to see what is left and where is collects in the bottle.

It does cost £18.00 which is quite expensive. Though I would love to be able to find the same quality cheaper I never have done and so stick with this product. I suppose this price isn't too bad considering how long it lasts anyway!

Overall, I think this is a great product which will last you many moons.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

A highlighter that is much too subtle for me, I prefer High Beam

        - Why I bought -
I have been buying Benefit High beam face highlighter for years, it is a product I really like and I think it is definitely one of their better products. When I needed a new bottle last year I made a trip to the Benefit counter of a department store. While High Beam was in stock the makeup girl informed me that as there weren't any left on the shelves she would have to go downstairs to their stock room. As I was in a hurry she offered me Moon Beam as an alternative. I had never tried this before but she assured me it was a very similar product so I thought, why not try it?

        - The Packaging -
The box for this product is a lovely warm peach colour with a gold moon behind the name of the product. The benefit brand name is prominent on the box and there is a description of the product as an "iridescent complexion enhancer". It is simple, tasteful and looks expensive. When you open the box you see a 13ml bottle that looks just like a bottle of nail varnish. It is cylindrical in shape, made of glass and it has a black plastic lid which is easy to twist off. Again the brand name and the name of the product are clearly visible on the glass bottle. There is information about the highlighter on the back of the bottle, such as how to apply it. It is simple in design, easy to hold in your hand and would fit easily into a makeup back, handbag or even a small clutch bag on a night out.

        - Applying the Highlighter -
When you take the lid off the bottle you see that, just like a nail varnish, there is a slim brush attached. This makes applying the highlighter very easy. The liquid is peachy in colour and has a lovely iridescent, pearly quality that reflects the light beautifully. It is quite thick in consistency and has an artificial smell, not unpleasant or strong though. To apply you simply make sure there is a reasonable amount of liquid on the brush and then gently brush it on to the area of your face you wish to highlight. It is recommended for use on cheeks and brow bones but can also be blended all over your face if you wish. I usually apply it to my cheek bones. Then you blend it in either with your fingers, a sponge or make up brush, I tend to use my fingers. You then apply your make up on top. You can also mix some of the highlighter with your foundation and apply it together but I have never tried this. I find it very easy to apply and blend in.

        - The Results -
The idea is that this highlighter will add a warm shimmer to your skin and give you a radiant complexion. In my opinion, although I think it does slightly enhance my complexion, the results are just too subtle and once I have applied all my makeup it isn't very noticeable whether I have used it or not. On several occasions I have forgotten to apply this and once my makeup is done I think there is a barely noticeable difference to times when I have worn it. I think High Beam achieves much better results, or another Benefit highlighter "Girl Meets Pearl" is also a much better product for highlighting. I have never had any reaction or irritation from using Moon Beam so I would assume it is gentle on your skin.

        - Price and Availability -
Moon Beam is available from the Benefit website, Benefit counters which are found in most department stores, or in larger Boots stores. The standard price is £18.50 for the 13ml bottle but I have seen it up to 20% off so I think it is worth waiting until there is a promotion on before buying this. This is obviously quite a pricy product and as I found it too subtle for me I don't think this is a good price to pay. However, High Beam is the same price and I would say that is worth the money. For Moon Beam or High Beam a bottle will usually last me over a year when I use it roughly four times a week.

        - Would I Recommend? -
I would definitely recommend High Beam rather than Moon Beam as I think it gives much more noticeable results. However, for someone who wants a very subtle highlighter this product might work for them. I won't be buying it again and next time I will be happy to wait patiently for the makeup assistant to get me a bottle of High Beam.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

probably the best highlighter ive used to date

A product, marketed as a highlighter, designed to bring out those areas of the face that can reflect light to create a glowing, beautiful effect.
The product itself is packaged in the same way as most of benefits liquidy type products, a small bottle with a black lid, resembling nail varnish. Again this also has the typical brush type applicator similar to a nail varnish bottle.

The liquid itself is a peachy apricot type colour, with a sheeny, almost pearlised effect. It has tiny particles inside it which give it that shiny highlighting aspect. Its quite thick, but goes on easily and i find it is much easier to blend than posietint or benetint, when using fingers.

The product comes with a guide as to how to use it, it is suggested to be placed along the brow bone, in a c shape around the outer eye, down the bridge of the nose and in the cupids bow. It has also been suggested to mix some of the moonbeam in with moisturizer and foundation but i find that it makes you look rather odd and etheral-esq.

On application, when using the brush it can wipe the base foundation off from underneath. Dotting it on with the brush and then patting it into the skin is for me the best way to use this product.
I absolutely love this product, the single bottle lasts me approx 2 years and im currently on my 2nd bottle. I think that it is more suited to darker, olive skins due to the peach tones in the product. It can get clumpy towards the end, however a sit in the fridge tends to fix that problem.
It is quite expensive but i definately think its worth the price tag.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        Lovely and radiant

Benefit Moon Beam is an illuminator/highlighter which is meant to add a warm shimmer to your complexion.

Like its sister product High Beam, it comes in a 13ml bottle which looks like a nail varnish bottle. It has a brush attached to the bottle which you apply the product with.

Unlike High Beam which is a pink liquid, this is a golden apricot colour.

I apply a thin line from the apple of my cheek to the outside corner of my eye and gently blend with my fingers. I blend 3 dots on my brow bone, and i apply a line along the bridge of my nose.

The results are lovely. It makes my skin look glowing and radiant and if i want even more of a dewy look i mix this in equal parts with a matte foundation.

The results are the same as High Beam except this gives more of a warmer golden glow rather than a cooler silvery pink look. I would say Moon Beam is more suitable for nights out while High Beam is more of a daytime highlighter.

It retails at £18.50 which is very expensive for such a small bottle. However it does last a long time as you only need a little bit of the product each time you use it.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

A great highlighter to boost your complexion instantly.

Moonbeam by benefit is described rather poetically as an iridescent complexion enhancer or in other words something that will give your whole face a healthy glow. The golden apricot coloured liquid comes in a clear glass bottle and on first glance looks more nail varnish. The only problem with this packaging other than its fragility is its heavy weight when trying to pack as must as you can in your suitcase within the weight restrictions. But this would not be one of the items that I would choose to leave behind.
The purpose of this pearlescent liquid is to illuminate your cheek and brow bones as well as to add a warm shimmer to your whole complexion. Much like the moon and hence the name, the tiny particles within the liquid get to work by reflecting light which in turn highlights any area to which it is applied. It makes you look more awake and radiant, even if you don't feel it inside.
Once applied it is largely unnoticeable until it catches the light and then it starts working its magic, giving you the ethereal and romantic glow often seen on celebrities walking down the red carpet. This product also makes you look amazing in photographs, as the flash get those little particles working their best.
Some make up tutorials that I have watched with regard to this product have suggested mixing some moon beam in with your moisturiser and applying it all over. I have yet to be brave enough to try this and instead, I apply mine only the areas that I want highlighting once I have finished applying my foundation and powder. The small brush inside, exactly the same as a nail varnish brush, can be used to sweep the liquid from the apple of your cheek bones to your hair line. However I have found that when then blending the product, it can wipe off the make up underneath. Instead I draw a line of dots and then dab them into my skin. And the same can be done on your brow bone to achieve a wide eyed look.
The only negatives with this product are that over time is can become clumpy and therefore can not be applied so evenly. As it is fairly expensive, it is not really fair that it would be need to be replaced before you have used it all. And secondly, as I find with most of Benefits products, they don't suit everyone's skin colour. I am quite pale and I love this product but my friends with a darker skin tone than me disagree.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        Glowing, glowing, glowing

BeneFit Moon Beam is designed to enhance and reflect the light off areas of your face you want the light to fall. Its best used on cheeks, the tip of your nose and just below your eyebrow for the most dramatic effect.

It comes in a nail varnish type bottle with an easy screw top, which attached to that is the small applicator brush. Best results I find are when you apply small amounts to the areas mentioned above, too much and you can look too shiny.

BeneFit Moon Beam is an intricate mix of gold and pink highlights which exaggerate those areas of your face that you want people to focus on. I use this daily and apply abit more for nights out! It really is a fab little product, slightly more pricey than some of the highlighters available but as its a BeneFit product you are paying for quality. I bought one of these just after Christmas and I still have loads left, because you only need to apply a small amount the product lasts!

BeneFit Moon Beam adds a lovely glow to your complexion and is definitely worth an investment!

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

Another handbag essential for women preffering the natural look.

Yet another great product from benefit!

        ** First impressions **

Moonbeam from benefit comes in a small 13ml bottle and is a apricot colour with a slight hint of sparkle. The nail varnish type applicator is great for only adding a hint to your face. It is also quite thick in consistency , I would personally prefer it to be slightly runnier but you might just like it as it is .

        ** Price **

This one is again quite costly , £17.50 for a 13ml bottle. It is not very long lasting on the skin so this is something to note if you are going to buy it.

        ** What does it do ? **

Moonbeam is great to add on top of moisturiser and it gives your face a nice natural glow , it is also a great alternative to foundation. If you have very pale skin like myself then this will show up great on you but I think that medium to dark skin tones would not benefit very well from this .

        ** Overall **

Overall a great buy , this is a great little godsend for people preffering to look natural , it gives you that extra sparkle and enhances your existing complexion very well.

brilliant for holidays, as who wants to put makeup on in the heat!!!

Benefit moon beam, another hit from benefit which is fab!!

This is brilliant for holidays as with the weather being so hot and who wants to layer on the makeup on their holiday, its brill to put over ur moisturiser!!

Can also be used to mix in with your foundation, for a nice youthfull glow to your skin!! Another way of applying is to apply all makeup then as told by a benefit assistant, to dab four dots along the top of your cheek bone and gently dab.

Without a doubt you will not be disapointed. Many friends of mine have got this and all constantly go bk time and time again to buy more!

The pot may look small but it lasts months and as you dont need much a little go's a long way! Also if u dont like wearing makeup but just want a nice glow to your skin, this is a must have in your makeup bag!!!

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        TOO SUBTLE

Benefit's Moonbeam looks like a nail varnish. You dip the brush into the pinky creamy liquid then dot and blend it along your cheekbones, nose and forehead to create a luminous shimmer. The end result is a glittery pink/gold shimmer which makes your skin glow. The results are not as brilliant on darker complexions, however they are equally not as great on fair skin. I felt this product was expensive and not worth the money I spent on it. I felt the result was too natural and subtle and could have been easily achieved by using a blusher or bronzer. Also, you are supposed to wear Moonbeam under makeup or without. I usually apply it over my foundation, it doesn't blend in as well as it could and I fear being left with splodges or smears of the products along my cheekbones! When I use Moonbem (which is not very often), I always dust a blusher over the top of it.

a little pot of wonder, where a little goes a long way...

An amazing product, to be used in conjunction with High beam!

This little pot is so useful, primarity marketed as a highlighter, it can be used for so much more.In liquid form, you can simply stroke it straight onto your face with the brush provided, or mix it with other cosmetics.

Brush it above your cheekbones and below your brow bones for a beautiful golden glow. It highlights all the right places, and when applied correctly, it can help to contour your face.

Mix a pea sized amount with your foundation before applying it to give you an all over youthful glow. Not for those who want a matte finish, this tip is more for those seeking a glowing complexion. A sheer glow finish will take years off you, as the light is refracted away from your face, concealing fine lines and wrinkles.

Alternatively, mix a small amount with some vaeline, for a beautiful, shimmery lipgloss. An all over wonder product!

NB. the glow achieved by using this product often suits those with 'warm' skintones more than those with 'cool' skintones.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

An essential product for every make up bag.

I absolutely LOVE BeneFit make up and this is one of my favourite products they make. It is versatile and can make me look half decent even after a sleepless night. Moon beam comes in a small bottle with a screw top lid. There is an applicator brush attached to the inside of the lid. You can use this product however you like, it is basically a complexion highlighter.

The product itself is quite gloopy and it has to be blended in thoroughly. It contains pink and gold tones which really make your skin glow. I tend to use it on my cheekbones and brow bone. I apply it on top of my foundation and powder, although the instructions say to apply it under make up (I have been using this for a long time and have found that it works best for me on top of my make up). I use the brush to dot the product onto my brow bone from the outer corner of my eye round my eye onto my cheekbone. I then dab the product with my finger to completely blend it in. You can also use it on the bridge of your nose and forehead or you can gently dab it all over. However I feel that it looks best and is most effective if you use it only in certain places. I sometimes dab some on my collar bone if I am going on a night out for an extra glow.

This product never fails to give me a glow. It makes me look more awake and it brightens up my complexion. It accentuates my cheekbones and I wouldn't go out without it on now. It also takes the focus of other areas you don't like, for example, if I have bad bags under my eyes and I use this, you can barely notice the bags under my eyes because of how nice my cheekbones look.

It is quite expensive at £17.50 for 13ml but it lasts AGES. I've had my current bottle for about 4 months and it is only just looking like it is running out now. It is definately worth investing in if you need a little extra glow. You can buy Moon Beam at the Benefit counter in many department stores, e.g. Debenhams, Selfridges, or from Benefit online.

Good for darker skin tones, provides a nice glow

I use this product - moonbeam - when I have a tan since it is the sister product to Highbeam. The bottle described is as an 'iridescent complexion enhancer... golden apricot perfector'.

The packaging is designed so that this product looks like a nail varnish and in fact it is applied with a brush which looks like a nail varnish brush.

The bottle contains instructions for use - apply under make up or wear alone for an overall glow. I have tried both of these and found both of them fine. When putting under make up I found that a lighter foundation is the best to apply since its effects are lost if something thicker is applied. If your skin is looking good then apply it on its own to give the skin a nice glow.

It can also be used on specific areas of the face to provide a highlighting effect - cheeks, eyelids, lips or the nose.

            Would recommend this to anyone!

This product was bought for me by my sister on my birthday last year. It is one of the best products I have ever had and every image conscious girl should have this in their make up bag!

This is primarily a highlighting cream but can be used for endless other things. For everyday use, I use on my eyebrows and cheek bones. I then put my other make up over this, like blusher etc and it helps as a base/primer for your bronzer or blusher and makes it stay put.

It can also be used to give the appearance of a slimmer nose. Apply as a long line to either side of your nose to give the illusion of light on each side, therefore making your nose look thinner.

It can also be used on the lips to give a light shimmer.

This product lasts for ages and is definitely a must have for your make up bag. It looks beautiful and is a great pick me up if you're having a rough day or a hangover! Perks you up within minutes.

Although benefit products are much more expensive than most other cosmetic brands, I believe that you get what you pay for as the quality of the brand is much superior to some others.

            Would recommend!

              Advantages

              Disadvantages

A must for evening and day time looks

Moon Beam is a golden glow in a nail polish type bottle, With a brush for appliance.

Moon Beam has a gorgeous pinky gold tone, I have read a few reviews on here were they say recommended for darker skin tones - but let me tell you i am as pale as you can get and use this fab highlighting product nearly every single day. Its great for helping blusher stay put all day if you use it under for a day look or put it over for a glam night look.

The looks it can create are so versatile as with many benifit products. It can widen eyes, slim your nose make you cheeks literally pop out and make for some super glamourous eye looks. Overall this product is a must for every make up girls make up bag! Absolutly gorgeous product and another product from benifit that seems to last forever!
