BeneFit Moon Beam
Advantages: Subtle, makes you glow
Disadvantages: Expensive, people will ask you if you are pregnant
I used to be in the Paris Hilton school of applying enough bronzer to be orange. That was until I knocked my bronzing beads all over the floor and my kitten starting eating them (he was ok - I managed to stop him.) I thought it was time to look for alternatives and stumbled across Benefit Moon Beam
Benfit describe this product as "Unleash the luster of the moon! This golden apricot perfector illuminates and adds a warm shimmer to your complexion. Its celestial bliss!"
Moon Beam comes is a bottle similar to nail polish. It is a thick golden gooey consistency and you apply it using a brush. It says to use thinly and blend in with your fingers. I was not entirely convinced but gave it a go - after all I had forked out £15 for it!
Where to apply
I mainly apply to my cheeks as it really highlights the area - although I did get asked if I was pregnant one day as I looked "glowing" - needless to say I walked away before they got a slap!!
You can also apply it underneath your brows to highlight your eyes. I have also known my friends use it down the sides of there noses to make thin noses look wider.
I would recommend if you are prone to dry skin to moisturise first before applying as it can look quite scaly.
Other things you may want to know:
You can wear it on its own or underneath bronzer
Cost - £14.99
Comes in a 13 ml Bottle
Works best on olive, tan and darker skin tones
This product is perfect for summer - on top of a tan it gives you such an amazing look.
The size of the bottle does appear to be rather small for the price but it lasts ages. You only need a few dots of it for a radiant effect.
If you are looking for a more of a blusher effect there is Benefit High Beam which instead of the golden glow offers more of a red look.
The old saying 'you get what you pay for' is true here. This may be expensive and an unusual - I don't think there are many similar products out there - but the effect is worth it.
Don't expect to look like you have been to Barbados for a week but do expect a healthy glow. If you buy this from a department store they usually have offers/ make up tips when you buy benefit. I got a free makeover which made me want to spend a fortune there
