Advantages: Great colour and texture, lasts for ages
Disadvantages: The original product is expensive
On my break at work today I took a walk down to the shop and saw that this months Glamour Magazine were giving away Benefit make up freebies!!!!
I have to admit I do not own and have never tried Benefit make up, simply because it is quite expensive stuff but I have heard wonderful things about it and some of my friends buy nothing but Benefit make up. Obviously I HAD to buy the magazine. I had a browse through the options and you could get either Posie Tint, Bene Tint or High Beam, I will admit I had no idea what any of these were but read on the side of the little Posie Tint box that it was a lip and cheek colour stain in Poppy pink. Well, if it's pink, I'll usually buy it so I picked up that one and walked towards the check out, I then changed my mind and went to pick up the high beam aswell using the justification that technically this benefit make up only costs £2 each and I can leave the additional magazine at work for my colleagues to read.
When I got back to my place of work I couldn't resist having a play with the posie tint. I was a little apprehensive as to me the word 'stain' is something that you can't remove and so had a moment of naivety where I wondered if I would be able to remove it once on, especially as it's bright pink; but curiosity won and I decided to do it anyway and was pleasantly suprised.
***Who are Benefit?***
Benefit is a global, luxury cosmetic company with a fun twist that was created in 1976 by American twins Jean and Jane Ford. Since then the company has gone from strength to strength and now has more than 2000 beauty counters in 30 different counteries
***The Posie Tint***
The freebie posie tint comes in a little baby box with the name of the product (posie tint) and name of the brand (Benefit) and a little description stating that it is a poppy pink lip and cheek stain and instructions of how to use i and it's ingredients. Inside the box is a little metallic pink bottle with a white lid. The bottle contains 4ml of lip and cheek stain.
If you unscew the lid you reveal a brush covered in an almost neon pink coloured tint (hence my apprehension to apply it at work). The application instructions state that to apply to cheecks you need to put three brush strokes onto the apple of your cheecks and then quickly blend with finger tip and to apply to lips just dot on and blend with finger tips, if you want to have a deeper colour, just repeat the process.
I have only applied the tint to my lips but I have to say I was very impressed. I applied the tint to my lips as directed and was left with subltely pink lips.
The colour lasted a good 4 hours with just the one application and it felt weightless, as if I wasn't wearing anything. There is no thick, sticky consistency like you get with lipstick/lipgloss. You can also apply lipgloss over the top of it to give it a glossy effect if that is what you want. As I said previously, I was left with subtley pink lips, so it is perfect for every day wear and I would probably just apply some more over the top to get a deeper colour if I was wearing in on a night out.
I will definately be buying the full product, although after looking on the Benefit website, it is very pricey, a 12.5ml bottle costs £24.50, so I might just buy a few more magazines for now as the freebies are a perfect size to put in a clutch bag on a night out. I would definately recommend this product. Ladies, get yourself to the shops and pick up a copy of July's issue of Glamour magazine!!
Summary: Definately worth the price of a magazine!
