Advantages: Really does keep make-up where it should be
Disadvantages: Quite expensive
I have just started to use this product in preparation for my summer wedding, knowing that I would need as much waterproofing as possible! I started off practicing using it at work, knowing how much I accidentally smudge my make-up on a normal day.
The product comes in a small blue bottle within a larger cardboard box which contains all of the kit. The lid of the SheLaq liquid has its own brush, a similar kind of set up to a nail varnish brush in that it is in contact with the product. However I am not sure why this is necessary because the set comes with a variety of brushes. There is a mascara type brush, which I use for eyelash makeup, a very thin brush which comes in useful for eyeliner and a thicker one which could be used for lips but which I use for eyelid make-up as well as a medium one for lips. This all is presented in a small material bag which I imagine is meant to keep it all in.
Basically I sweep it over any make-up that I have put on in order after having let it settle down for a couple of minutes. It goes on feeling a bit cold and its probably best to let it dry, which it does quickly, before touching the area. There is no scent, but it can feel a little tight as it is drying under the eye, but this is not particularly prevalent or unpleasant.
To be completely honest I was not expecting it to work as well as it did, mainly because I know of no other product quite like it (apart from lipcote which is solely for lips), and thought that if it did work there would be some cheap imitations out there. In essence I put it on my eyeshadow, "browzinged" eyebrows, eyeliner and non-waterproof mascara and was amazed when I came back from work that it was all still there. It worked particularly well on my eyebrows. Normally, even when I use a primer on my powder there is some movement, but there was definite definition.
However, it is not so strong that it means that you need anything more than your normal eye makeup remover at the end of the day.
One thing you must take heed of is that you MUST wash the brushes after use, otherwise they get hard. This is easily remedied by washing in some warm water and some sensitive anti-bacterial liquid soap. Getting into the habit of doing this after each use means that they should be suitably dried and usable by the next time you need them.
When this lot runs out I will definitely be buying it again - very impressed
Summary: I see this as now an essential product
