Sometimes I find a Benefit product that is simply amazing - where there's nothing else quite like it available elsewhere. I'm always looking for a great foundation, so when I discovered it at a Benefit counter, I had to try it out.

As usual, the Benefit "Why we Love it" comments sell the product highly:

"Our oil-free, cream-to-powder finish fakes foundation... it's silky, even perfection for your complexion!"

As a cream to powder foundation, this product is nothing different. It does what it says and is therefore easy to apply, goes on like a cream, dries to a powder finish. I was disappointed that this foundation doesn't come in many shades (literally just a handful) but I have to say that the palest shade was fine for me.

The packaging is a little 'gimmicky'. I don't think there is really a need for a foundation to come with a mirror, or with a separate compartment for the applicator sponge. This works on, say, a powder, where the product will last you a few years, but this foundation lasts for about 4 weeks (using it every day) and throwing a compact with a mirror away every month seems a little wasteful!

That brings me onto the next issue I have with the product. With an RRP of £23.50 you would expect something that lasted a good long while. I don't wear my foundation heavily, but this only lasted me 4 weeks! I wasn't overly impressed!

Over all, I would say that the finish is good. The product applies evenly either with the sponge it comes with, or with a foundation brush. It is not a great product if you desire a high level or coverage, or if you have any other niche requirements such as a moisturising foundation, matte foundation, anti blemish foundation.... What I am saying is that it is a very basic product.

For the price and the fact that this product doesn't have any unique selling points (or last long at all!) I simply cannot give this a high rating. Such a shame because sometimes Benefit do get it so right!
