Advantages: improves the appearance of oily skin and large pores

Disadvantages: can be shiny, difficult to get it right

Firstly, I am going to say that I don't like this product as a foundation (but then I'm not a big user of foundation at the best of times). Secondly, however, I am going to say that I use this every single day without fail and that my complexion is 100x happier, brighter, and smoother since I started using it.

This is a product that gets mixed reviews but has been in the BeneFit collection for a fair while now (I tried it when it first came out but didn't get far with it) which means that it must be a steady seller. It also launched itself in two more shades. To me, this meant that it must be doing SOMETHING, so once it came out with a light version, it was worth another try.

As an all over foundation it made my combination skin shiny in the oily zones, and dry and flakey in the dry zones. I found it also really didn't work well with powder blush. But I remembered reading somewhere (can't remember the source so don't quote me on how true it actually is!) that the formula was originally based on the Dr Feelgood primer.

Thinking about how Dr Feelgood worked, I remembered that I used to use it over parts of my skin that were particularly pore-tastic, oily, and prone to redness. So I set about using my Some Kinda Gorgeous in the same way. I have a patch of bad skin on the part of my cheek just under my eyes, and a patch of bad skin on my chin. Once I have moisturised, concealered my undereyes, and red relief-ed my nose, I use a big fat foundation brush to smooth Some Kinda Gorgeous across those bad patches of skin. Pores reduced, redness reduced, oiliness reduced; I then powder my face putting a much thinner layer of powder over these areas. And there you are, my face looks happier, brighter, and smoother. I am lucky in that the Light shade is almost a perfect match for my skin tone. If it wasn't, I might end up looking rather patchy, so this strange hybrid application probably won't suit everyone, but if you have a Some Kinda Gorgeous looking lonely in your make up bag, why not have an experiment with it and see if you can make it work for you in a similar way?

Summary: Ok so it's not really a great foundation, but try using it sparingly on the problem areas
