Benefit Sun Beam
Advantages: Easy to apply & rub in, creates glowy, dewy golden skin
Disadvantages: Quite costly
Benefit are one of the leaders in high quality costmetics at more affordable prices. suneam is a lovely liquid bronzer which can be used to create a subtle but gorgeous tan, or to define the structure of your face. I bought sunbeam for £24 from the Benefit counter at my local Boots.
sunbeam comes complete in a small, shimmer golden box which reflects the effect the product has on your skin. The bottle itself is of a similar shimmery gold/bronze colour and feels to be made of a solid plastic. The lid is crisp white and easily unscrewed.
The labelling and font used on sunbeam is synonymous with Benefit prodcuts and is used on the entire range. Benefit is a fun, bold and youthful brand but their products are suitable for all ages. The packaging is clear, sleek and pretty. The bottle looks great both in my makeup bag and on my dressing table.
The liquid itself is very fine and smooth, and has a silky quality to it. It's very fluid, easy to rub into skin and creates a great subtle glow. It also easily washed off with soapy water or makeup wipes and, unlike many tanning products, doesn't drip or streak in the rain!
DOES IT WORK?
Yes! When I applied sunbeam I was unsure of how great it'd make my skin - worrying that a liquid brnzer may make my skin look too orange or dark compared to my neck - however, I found the product to be really easy to apply, really easy to rub into the skin, and really soft and subtle (no tide lines!).
I also used it to create more definition around the structure of my face. I applied sunbeam to the hollow of my cheeks, just below the cheekbones, to the temples and upward following the line of my hair. I applied carefully and rubbed well and achieved a fabulous, structured (but natural looking!) result!
sunbeam does all it says it does - creating a gorgeous shimmery glow on the face & collarbones, and also defining the structure of the face. My only criticism is the price. At £24, I could buy a couple of my standard powder bronzers, though none achieve this glowy, dewy radiant look. Also, £24 is an expected price to pay for Benefit products.
Summary: A great subtle bronzer which can both define your features & create a lovely golden glow
