******General Primer Information******
It's summer time and the sun is occasionally shining and with that thought in mind and my sallow, dehydrated skin I waltzed off to Boots in search of a Skin Saving Miracle.

As I browsed the Make up counters and found myself drawn to the lovely, bright display of Benefit Products "That Gal" stood out. I spoke with the very helpful assistant and explained my Make up woes and she further recommended the Product.

Essentially "That Gal" is a pink Primer and Primers are quite a new beauty product that are being touted as a moisturizer stroke setting agent for use before foundation is applied. The concept being that the Primer acts as a sort of protective barrier between foundation and skin and Primers can also help to even out skin tone, protect the skin from absorbing all the heavy mineral nasties that can be core Foundation Ingredients.

******Packaging******
That Gal comes packaged in a white plastic Tube which is approximately about 3.5 inches long. The bottom of the Tube is a Hexagonal shape and is twistable to enable the product to be distributed through the plastic mesh at the top of the tube.

The packaging is essentially a waterproof, high quality label that wraps around the centre of the Tube. The Label depicts a cartoon style skyline with skyscrapers and greenery and yellow and pink clouds with the "That Gal" tag line across the front in black scripted font.
The Packaging looks slightly cheap to me, but I think that may just be a personal observation due to the white plastic which can get quite grotty after being transported in a make up bag for a few days. The plastic is of a good quality and is easy to wipe and the twistable bottom design is easy to use and highly functional.

******Application******
That Gal is easy to use as the primer is contained within a white Plastic tube which has a plastic meshing on the top of the tub covered by a protective Plastic cap. There is a twist function that allows the user to decide how much primer is required, once you have twisted the bottom of the tube which is Hexagonal shaped, the primer appears through the plastic meshing. It's advisable to use your fingertips to apply the Primer to the face as this will ensure a smoother application.

The application process is very easy and I was surprised that the process is "Mess Free", there wasn't any leaking and the meshing which the Primer glides is comprised of lots of little squares which are wipe able and ensure that just the right amount of Primer gets through. The plastic protective cap would catch spillages if there was any, but because you effectively self administer the amount of primer you require it would be hard to create a mess.

******The Product******
That Gal is a Primer which contains the following ingredients
* Contains soothing raspberry & chamomile, combined with sweet almond & algae extracts to help skin retain natural moisture, for a soft & silky finish.
* Light-reflecting pigments brighten the complexion.

Where do I start, this is an excellent Product. The Primer is of a wonderful silky, shimmery and liquidy texture and glides onto your fingertips which is essential for easy application. I find that the more liquid based and silkier a product feels then it is essentially so much easier to blend onto the face and avoid any tell tale smear marks.

I found the product very easy to blend onto the face and the Primer absorbed into the skin almost immediately but without leaving a heavy or powdery residue. The Primer also left my skin feeling moisturized and slightly cooled. The Pinky Shimmery colour instantly made my face appear youthful although this may be in part to the slightly shimmery effect and the lovely natural pink colour that the Primer created on my skin.

The Product essentially worked like a tinted moisturizer, but I can't help but emphasize the glow that my skin had after each application. Overall the effect is a very natural, pinky glow. The Primer sits well under foundation and I found that my Foundation lasted throughout the day without the need for a top up. And an added bonus is that the overall texture of my skin has improved since using the product.
My skin tone is still uneven but my pores appear smaller and I can only attribute this to the Primer. The Primer also has a lovely light Strawberry Scent.

*****Value for Money*****
I would consider this Product excellent value for money, as essentially the product delivers on its promise to brighten skin and act as a base for make up application and is in a good sized tube which I think will last me for at least 3 months and that is incorporating daily application.

*****Benefit Background*****
Benefit was created in 1976 by Twin Sisters Jen and Jane Ford who initially opened a Boutique in San Francisco. The Company grew into a Global Beauty Brand with currently over 1,000 counters in more than 25 Countries.

Benefit stuff is amazing but definatley too pricey. Primark deserves a review all on it's own, I love Primark especially as it allows me to spend more on Benefit.

I used to like using this but it wasn't coping well with my blemished/oily skin so I stopped using it.
