I abolsutely love Benefit ever since I had their Bad Gal lashes mascara. Since then I have bought many of their products even though I knew that my bank statements told me I kind of couldnt afford it. Benefit isnt a cheap brand of make up, but I usually find that they are value for money. Kind of anyway.
I have this Benefit lip gloss in two shades: Corsage (a mild salmony pink) and No Peeking (a bright-ish bubblegum pink). Each gloss comes in a 5.2g tube with the noticeable Benefit writing across. They are tubes that you twist in order to open. They are nice and handy and fit very easily into your handbag. Very good for nights out!
The applicator is a small sponged tip that grabs the gloss really well. I find that the gloss is easy to apply and unlike many glosses I have had, this one isnt sticky and has a really good texture to it. I find that the durability of this gloss is really good: on and off the lips. Usually a gloss will start getting dry and very gooey after having opened it, but this one has kept its texture.
This gloss gives a really good finish to the lips and makes them feel soft too! I really like this gloss, even though it is a little pricey at around £9.00 for a small tube.
I am a big fan of benefit make up and the Benefit The gloss was giving to me as a gift.
The gloss is available in thirteen different colours so there is a shade to suit everyone and every occasion.
The gloss comes in a little tube and very tube is 2.5g.
Normally retails at £11.50 and i find it lasts a very long time.
You can wear The Gloss on its own or on top of a lipstick to add an extra shine.
The Gloss slides on quickly and sleekly and the tip of the brush stops excess gloss sliding onto your lips.
I find that The Gloss has a high sheen and the colours are vibrant, there is also a scent to The gloss that resembles apricots.
This is my favorite lip gloss and i use it daily to keep my lips soft and smooth and i add it to my lipstick on an night out to make them look super shiney.
If your looking for an everyday lip gloss that looks good and lasts a long time then i recommend you purchase this product.
My favourite everyday lip gloss.
not too gooey or sticky comes in a variety of colours some more transparent then others.
It is quite expensive, i would expect better packaging really for the price or more gloss.
Since the revamp of the gloss a few years ago the texture is slightly thicker so it can sometimes be hard to get the gloss out of the tube. to combat it you need to hold it or put it somewhere warm for a few mins before using it to warm it up.
th e more transparent ones can also be used over lipsticks to add a shine.
They smell and taste quite nice and feel soft on the lips not greasy.
I would recomend these for anyone looking for a day shine rather then evening as her glossines gives you the extra evening shine. These stay on for ages so you don't have to keep reapplying all of the time.
Benefit The Gloss lip glosses come in thirteen different shades. These glosses are quite small and do tend to get used up very quickly. The colours are all great however they discontinued my favourite one called Wink which was a glorious mauve so my new favourite is Streakin' a baby pink colour. These glosses give a lot more colour pay off than the other Benefit glosses so they do tend to last a while. Like all other Benefit glosses the go on evenly and do not feel sticky or go gloopy. You really do not get a lot for your money though they are quite small. They do have an excellent range of shades with more being added all the time. The down side to this is when they add one one gets removed so my advice is if you find one you like stock up on it quick - before they discontinue it!
I tried Benefit the gloss when I was given one for my birthday last year. I received it in the shade called No Peeking which was a bubblegum pink colour in the bottle. When I tried it on, the colour was more of a sheer bubblegum pink that i had to apply a few times to get the shade that showed on the outside of the bottle. The colour was fantastic, I really like pink lip gloss especially when I've gone tanning a couple of times, and this product became my new favourite in no time.
I carried it everywhere with me in my purse or in my pocket, but as I'd expected, the little bottle ran out rather quickly. I also didn't like the packaging, because the bottle still had about 30% of the gloss still in it but it was impossible to get out. Thus, I had to run over to Sephora to grab another tube of this gorgeous shade. The lip gloss costs about $15 US but its worth it for the colour, although I'm not sure you get your money's worth considering that so much of it gets left inside the tube.
The lip-gloss also has a very subtle but sweet/fruity scent that i liked. The gloss was also very shiny yet not sticky at all, it was so smooth and soft and felt very nice on my lips. However, it doesn't help with chapped lips or anything like that so i suggest you use it on healthy lips that are not dry, and exfoliate before you apply it. Another downside is that the gloss does not last long on the lips and needs to be reapplied quite frequently, and this was annoying.
I'm not sure that I would recommend this gloss to everyone unless they absolutely love how the colour looks on them, and as long as they have the money to spend on it, and the time to spend re-applying often. Other than that im not sure that it is worth the money, although it is a very nice gloss for any occasion, and It is great for those who prefer a non-sticky lip gloss that has a nice shine.
Kiss me (clear fuschia)
No peeking (sheer cream pink)
Rave reviews (frosted garnet)
Streaking (buff nude)
For the past several years lipgloss has been swamping the cosmetics market, from clear to coloured, sticky to slippery and costing between pennies and pounds, lipgloss has played a huge part in our society waving goodbye to dry lipsticks and saying hello to a much more up-to-date look.
Although lipglosses have been around for years its only in the past 5 years that they have really taken hold of the cosmetic stands. No-one buys lipsticks now, it's all about gloss. After all, who wants a layer of dry colour that looks far too matte when they could have a slick gloss the helps make the face look a little bit more 3D than a lipstick(?!). In fact lipsticks now come with gloss in them as otherwise they just wouldn't sell. Don't get me wrong I still have the odd lipstick that I occasionaly try out but it's glosses all the way for me....
Ive spent years trying to find the perfect lipgloss. I don't have the skin colouring for many lipsticks and the colours in glosses tend to be a bit more forgiving. I was about ready to give up when I found Benefit's 'The Gloss'. Unlike leading competitors 'The Gloss' is not at all sticky and doesn't stick to my hair in the wind! (Always a good look!). I put this down to the fact that it's quite thin, not thick like some glosses can be, which also allows you to talk and smile as usual without your lips feeling to heavy! Being a gloss it does unfortunately come off on cups and glasses as you drink, but not as badly as you expect most glosses too. In fact I would say because it's so thin it helps to levae more on your lips and less on your cups!
The colour I use is called 'thigh high' and looks quite pink but comes out pink/gold, it's great because the colour doesn't need touching up to stay and although 'the gloss' wears off quite quickly, while it is on, you don't need to constantly touch it up which is good for when your on the go. Because the colours are so nice you can also wear them with lip liner, which creates a great pout even if the lips are very thin.
Other colours in the range are:
wink: a baby pink colour
rave reviews: a bold red
rendezvous: a berry red
woo: caramel colour
raisin hell: dark purple
thigh high: a pink/gold colour
streakin': a coral colour
no peekin: a candyfloss pink
corsage: a pink/red
chaperone: a light gold/brown shade
curfew: a yellow/gold colour
The tiny tube that the gloss itself comes in is a real let down. The tube is quite thick so when they run out after 2 weeks, it's quite annoying. Especially as you can see so much more in the tube but you can't actually get any on the tiny applicater wand. This is where the magic comes in! If you get a pen knife and slowly remove the part in the top that wipes all the excess off the wand, then you can get at the rest of the gloss! It does get a bit messy if your not careful because obviously you can't control where the gloss goes but it's given me months more useage out of my gloss!
At £11.50 they are moderately priced for designer cosmetic lipgloss and I would recommend them to anyone, the taste isn't even that bad either! Benefit counters can be found in Boot's, House of Fraiser, Debenhams, Selfridges and other good department stores!
i have ammenede this review as i hade some negative ish feed back beacuse it was the first review i had written and i hadnt included enough information. I became a benefit addict after trying some of my sisters products.
I love the packaging and i love the way i feel treated and pampered by benefit products, a lot of them dont really justify cost tho, But this one is different....
I dont just buy it for any of the above reasons like other benefit products, i buy it because it is really good, gloss is a difficult one, because it is glossy, it is sticky, gooey and it gets stuck in your hair if you wear it down and its a windy day! I am yet to find a gloss that doesnt but this one lasts well for a gloss isnt too sticky smells absolutly lovely (like peaches) but you dont get a lot of it. This gloss also gives a fantastic look over benetint and dramaticly changes the look from day wear to night wear (in clear.)
It comes in many different colours but i have only ever brought the clear one to use with my benetint.
I purchased mine from the benefitcosmetics.co.uk website which sells it a lot cheeper than getting it from england but it is also avaliable from large boots stores, harrods and selfridges at about £11.50. Mine was $14 from the website and if you spend enough they usually have some sort of free postage offer.
Although it can take up to 4 weeks for delivery, and there is a customs charge, it can save you quite a bit of money if you want to buy a lot of stuff and they always include some free samples.
Over all i would recomend this product i just love it and its one i would buy again.
