Advantages: smaller looking pores, oil control

Disadvantages: only one shade available, can give you that caked in look

Promising to minimise the appearance of pores is always going to get me, arms outstretched, wallet out, hoping for a miracle. Perhaps, I was expecting a bit too much of this product in that it promises to minimise the appearance of pores rather than remove all hint of large pore from my face. Perhaps, when you consider that I had acne as a teenager and was a little too fond of clearing the blackheads using a good old fashioned squeeze, expecting anything to give me clear, smooth skin would be asking too much.

However, I spent my £23.50 and I hoped for my miracle. Unsurprisingly, I didn't get one. To be fair to BeneFit it did exactly what it promised, it minimised the appearance of my pores. It also gave a smooth oil free base to sit foundation on top of. Sadly, what it also did was to fill up my open pores with an effect reminiscent of polyfiller filling the cracks in a wall. Fair enough, it's an effect that works, but it also gave me lumpy bits sticking out of each pore that, due to the colour being slightly too dark for my (admittedly very fair) skin, made it look as though I had dirty clogged pores. Funnily enough, clogging my pores full of polyfiller also meant that I had an increased amount of spots and redness whilst using this product. Not a great result then.

Would I recommend this product? Well, it does exactly what it promises to do and if your skin routine involves a slightly thicker layer of foundation then I can see this working for you in that it will help to even the skin underneath the foundation. Why not give it a whirl?

Summary: Will anyone rid me of these pesky pores?
