Advantages: A little goes a long way, Nice consistency, Long-lasting
Disadvantages: Quite dark, so needs plenty of blending for paler skin
A couple of colleagues had recommended You Rebel, so I decided to give it a go. I don’t wear foundation or tinted moisturiser all that often, but am quite fussy about how they look and feel. You Rebel’s USP, according to BeneFit, is that the UVF filters are blended with the foundation, so it really does serve as moisturiser, foundation, and sun protection, cutting out at least one layer for most people. I have very pale, but pink, skin, and was slightly alarmed at first by the colour, as it appeared very dark. But, with plenty of blending with a damp cosmetic sponge, You Rebel looked fine, and my face just had a healthy, slightly tanned glow. I would say You Rebel does feel a lot more like a true foundation than a tinted moisturiser. And yet, it is very nice to apply, having a good creamy consistency that sits well on the skin. Moreover, my skin does feel comfortable with it on, not tight or at all irritable, and it is also very long-lasting - not disappearing within a few hours like some products. All in all, I’d say give it a go. It should suit a wide range of skin tones, being OK on pale skins if blended well, and I would say dark enough to be suitable on at least dark olive complexions. I usually use it with BeneFit’s compressed powder on top, for a more matt finish, but You Rebel is fine on its own too.
