Blinc Mascara was the first mascara to use TUBES to coat your lashes. The original water resistant mascara forms tiny tubes aoround your lashes rather than conventional mascara which paints your lashes. The difference? Once applied, the tubes bind to your lashes and cannot run, smudge, clump or flake. They say you can even cry or rub your lashes and it wont come off. Even in the rain it won't come off, as even though it is getting wet, you need both water AND presure to remove it, so rain is not going to spoil the effect. Brides magazine ranked Blink as a top 10 mascara to wear on your wedding day!!!

When you want to remove it, you use water - that's right, you can do away with bothersome, time consuming, costly make up removal products! Just wet your lashes with water and gently (you are just trying to remove the mascara not your lashes themselves!), slide the tubes off your lashes. I use running water and rinse my fingers after each pass so that they are nice and wet to slide over each time. Takes seconds and is truly hassle free. This has made me very lazy and using conventional mascara now seems like a real pain. I also think that I am being kinder to my lashes as I am not rubbing them compared to removing conventional mascara.

The colour I use is dark brown. I have brown hair, blue eyes, and dye my eyelashes a blue/black, so my lashes don't need the black. I know everyone uses black these days what with all the celebrities and their false eyelashes etc, but I find it too harsh for everyday wear. There are six colours available - black, dark blue, medium brown, dark brown, dark green and dark purple.

Blinc mascara gives your lashes added volume and length and they look nice and glossy - it doen't go the flat matt way some mascaras do. It is not heavy on the lashes, and I never had problems with flaking which other mascaras can do by the end of the day.

It is clinically tested to be non-irritating, and is really good for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers. It has not been tested on animals.

Cost in the Blincuk website is £18. Sometimes they send offers if you create an account with them, but I have mainly purchased it from ebay and other cheaper websites. It is becoming more widely available and you can now purchase it from Boots online for £14.48, however they may not have the full colour range available.

Positives - great staying power and easy to remove. Doesn't dry out in its container as fast as other mascaras.

Negatives - only that the packaging is a bit excessive. It comes inside a metal 'tube' container, and the mascara itself is sealed, so I think the container is an unnecessary gimmic and not very environmentally friendly.
