I was sold this product together with the Bobbi Brown foundation and concealer. Before using it, I rarely (if ever) bothered with under-eye make-up when putting on my face for a night out - largely because I have brown skin and could rarely find a shade to match.
However, no such problems with Bobbi Brown! The sales assistant in store showed me the correct shade and how to apply it properly, and once you know that, you will wonder how you never had it in your routine before. It is applied (and removed) easily, and when used together with concealer and foundation, forms part of a great way to have an almost professionally put together face of make-up.
In addition, the pot has a small mirror inside it which is excellent when applying this, and it also doubles up as a very useful mirror for checking your make-up!
Invest in this - you won't be disappointed!
I'm lucky to have a friend who loves buying expensive makeup brands and on occasion if there is something that doesn't work for her she passes onto me like this Bobbi Brown Corrector. I have heard a lot of good things about Bobbi Brown and have been interested in buying a concealer for a long time but wanting to finish the one I already have (Benefit Erase Paste). The reason my friend didn't want this anymore was because she is extremely pale and even this 'Porcelain Bisque' was a bit too dark for her skin. The corrector is to be used as a base before concealer to balance the purple colouring under the eyes. I thought this was great as I suffer from very dark circles and often use two concealers to try and cover them up.
As this was passed onto me I can't comment on the packaging but the actual little case the corrector comes in is very cute. IT is black plastic with Bobbi Brown written on the top, it is about half a centimetre larger than a two pound coin and a centimetre and a half thick. The base indicates the colour name. It is securely closed and inside the lid is a small mirror, the mirror is very small and pretty useless but at least it does not get dirty like eye shadows or powders.
So I tried this out the next day as part of my make up routine. Easy enough to use by applying with my fingers, I find I need to rub it a little bit to sort of 'warm it up' so it blends in well otherwise it looks really odd and seems to just sit on my skin. After using this my bags are less purple and look very pale however this is where you use concealer on top to balance it out. I am currently using Erase Paste for my under eye concealer and have found that on top of this corrector my skin takes on an orange tinge and sometimes if I use too much the make up under my eyes can look very cakey! However if I'm sparing it looks fine and I also find that my Benefit Boiing Concealer which I mainly use for blemishes works much better as it blends in better with the corrector. I then dust over my face with powder and my bags are much less noticeable (I can't say they are completely gone, no amount of makeup will ever be able to get rid of under eye circles!).
Overall I like this product but I didn't love it, I'm not sure I would pay £18 for it as it is very small, although it does seem to be lasting awhile but I doubt I will be buying it when I run out. I think it would most probably work to its best with a Bobbi Brown concealer used on top but if you experiment it can work well with any other concealer too.
