I bought this eye shadow as it was recommended to me by a friend and i did not hesitate to try it. I have used other Bobbi Brown products and was very impressed by them, so quickly went to buy this one two.
The eye shadow comes in a black hinged pot with a clear plastic window so you can see what colour the eye shadow is, with the brands name on the front. I bought mine in colour bone as i like to highlight sections of my eye rather than using it as a full on eye shadow.
I personally like to use this eye shadow in the corner of my eyes,so it gives the illusion of my eyes being further apart, as well as a very thin line under the bottom of bottom lid to illuminate the underneath of my eyes bringing light to my face and making it have a glow. I also like to use this a highlighter under my brow, on top of my brow bone, to create the affect that my eyebrows are slightly higher up in comparison to my eyes, and further bring light to my face
The eye shadow blends very well with a small eye shadow fluffy brush which can be found in both boots and superdrug. It is very easy to apply as you only need a small amount on your brush due to it being highly pigmented, and just tap off any excess before apply to your eye to prevent the showered affect under your eyes and on top of your checks.
Overall i would definitely recommend this eye shadow as it is a great colour, can be used for multiple purposes and blends brilliantly with other shadows and make up. It is quite expensive at £16.50 but it does last a very long time as you only need to use small amounts and it is definitely worth the splurge.
I have recently discovered Bobbi Browns poducts, and every product i try becomes an instant favourite of mine. This eyeshadow is no exception. I bought this eye shadow in Bone to use as a base colour. As i ordered it over the internet i thought i would test out a lighter colour before plunging in and buying a darker colour that may not suit me.
As i use this as a base colour, i use it nearly everyday and it has lasted me ages! At £14.50 each they are not cheap, but are well worth the money as its one of the best eyeshadows i have ever tried. The texture is a lovley velvety feeling again your skin, and glides on so easily. It also lasts all day, unlike cheeper brands i have tried that seem to melt off your skin or smudge around your eyes.
I am going to invest in other eye shadows from Bobbi Brown, but am going to go into a department store so thesales assistant can pick out the right colours for me. Its handy to be able to buy Bobbi Brown products on line and you also get freebies when spending over a certain amount, however i think its good to use when you want to buy replacements, rather than buying new shades.
I have over the years tried many eye shadows from all different kinds of brands and prices and always find myself coming back to Bobbi Brown. The quality of their eye shadow is excellent and glides on to the eye socket easily blending in to give the desired look perfectly. Some eye shadows I have found don't last that long or clump together in the eye creases which is not particularly flattering.
Bobbi Brown is a world renowned American Make Up artist who created a range of make up and tools, she originally created ten lipsticks which would allow you to then create an infinite number of wearable shades just by mixing and blending them, before she branched out into all kinds of flattering make up products.
The eye shadow is available in a range of 38 shades and a wide variety of colours. Each eye shadow is 2.55g and lasts for literally ages, the good thing is you can mix and match your palette and by changing only one can make a dramatically different look. Before purchasing I always visit the Bobbi Brown counter in my local department store and speak to one of the assistants who will apply all the colours I am looking at and make some recommendations (it is almost like a mini make up lesson which is always good to keep you up to date with the latest tips and tricks). They never pressurize you and always ask what colours you have so as to make appropriate recommendations and let you make the most from your collection.
My personal favorites are Bone, Woodrose and Mahogany to create a defined everyday look that almost looks like you aren't wearing any but gives you that glossy natural look. The eye shadows have good lasting power giving you a great look all day long, they are also fine for sensitive skin.
You are recommended to apply the eye shadow with a brush and a light shade should be used all over the lid (like Bone, White or Banana) as a base, followed by a medium shade (like Taupe, Cement or Woodrose) which should be applied to your lower lid up to the crease. A dark shade (like Mahogany, Charcoal or Black Plum) should then be used, if desired, to line the eyes.
I love this eye shadow and while it costs £14.50 it is definitely worth it for the quality and the length of time it lasts. You can purchase any of the 38 shades (new shades are also added in Spring and Autumn) from Bobbi Brown counters in most major department stores or from the website.
