Bobbi Brown -
Bobbi Brown's slogan says ' The secret to beauty is simple, be who you are. ' I love when make up brands have products to enhance natural beauty, not totally cover everything up and just slap it on. Bobbi Brown make up is great for making you appear polished but not fake. I first discovered Bobbi Brown when I first ever got I to make up. I first bought a brush and have loved it ever since. This gave me high hopes for the actual make up products.
Bobbi brown is actually the number 1 make up artist brand that as founded by a woman. The make up range was launched in 1991 with 10 lipsticks created to fill the void of natural looking lipsticks that worked on women of all skin tones. She offers products which are really great for pale skin like myself and she also has some which are great for darker skin tones.
I bought this face powder last winter for the first time. I absolutely love the packaging of this, although it isn't very practical when you begin to use it up. It can be hard to scrape around the inside but I love the packaging, I think it's really pretty, chic and classy. This doesn't have very much coverage, it gives less coverage than a tinted moisturiser does. Think this helps to even out my skin tone, it doesn't really give you coverage but just evens it out very subtly. 5/5 product!
I was looking for a loose powder since a long time to set my sheer foundation after application!
I had tried Clinique loose powder but somehow it didnt give me the neat finish and the most horrible part about clinique powders were the shades...the lightest color looked freakin dark on my super pale skin!!
So i quit using clinique and started to use a drugstore powder which i was satisfied with....used it for about 7-8months...and in the meanwhile i was on the search for a loose powder with great texture and long lasting power...and FINALLY my search ends....!!
I simply love the bobbi brown's pale yellow face powder...I use it with estee lauder equalizer....its of great quality...it looks super natural...i feel i have no makeup on...and to add on to that, i have got several compliments too! Very little is required at a time since putting too much might make your face look cakey! And ofcourse, you need a good powder brush to apply this powder!!! I use the MAC 182 Kabuki to set this on and it looks great!!
So overall, i am very happy with this face powder and the pale yellow shade blends my face like fish to water! So i recommend this to all the girls who are looking for sheer-medium loose powder to set their foundations and make the color look natural even after 10 hours!
This product is NOT for touch-ups...its only recommended for setting your makeup...and v.little is required at a time...
Pressed Powders are more preferred for touch-ups!!
I have taken off one lippie because of the packaging which i agree with others as said, is very bad....It lasts me a longggg time but since its so expensive...you dont want to waste any bit of it....i wish they could come up with a better way...
This is one of my favourite bobby brown pieces so obviously im going to go on about how good it it...but seriously this is a good product,I use soft sand, it lightens your skin and I feel it even helps to even out you skin tone.
This is a light loose powder that is easy to use and apply.Even though granted this is not the cheapest or most readily available of products it still offers great if not outstanding value for money. You only need to use a small amount of this powder to see the results and desired affects, and even though this powder is a few years old..yes I know i shouldnt really be using is,but I am finding it difficult to find something that matches up to the quality and affectiveness that my bobby brown powder offers. I like the texture this loose powder has, even when applied it feels so smooth and honestly feels like you havent got anything on your skin. If you want good coverage and a nice base I would recommend this product,I feel it covers really well and is definately a bit of kit i struggle to live without
I have been using Bobbi Brown's Loose Powder for approximately 5 years now, and to be absolutely honest I would never use any other brand of face powder. I have tried others, which claim to contain a 'flattering' yellow tone, but they simply do not match up to the quality of Bobbi Brown. First time users of this product shouldn't be alarmed by its strong yellow pigment. Believe it or not, when this is applied to the skin, no matter what colour your skin is, you will look instantly better. This powder is the cosmetic equivilent to 'Beauty Flash Balm' by Clarins - it really does brighten your skin, reduce the look of dark circles under your eyes, and tones down all redness in your skin, everything from angry red spots to red noses! Although it is a little more expensive than other cosmetic brands, £21.00 for 20g, it will last for a very long time. Each container of the powder lasts me for approximately 9 to 12 months. The packaging is nothing special, but the container is very hard wearing, and will stay intact and crack free after many knocks and months of use. The texture of the powder is lovely, much lighter and more silky than other loose powders and I have found that it does not show up areas of dryness or settle in lines as much as other loose powders due to it's very fine and silky texture. My friends tell me that I am on a one woman mission to convert everyone to Bobbi Brown's Loose Powder! But I honestly cannot praise the product enough. It is worth every penny and I will continue using it for as long as Bobbi Brown produces it.
I bought this product back when i was working in a Department Store in Edinburgh called Jenners (check out the Christmas tree there by the way! It's HUGE !). The girls on the counter had told me how good it was and gave me a makeover for free, they actually made me look decent, which is nice for a change from how you usually look after a makeover. I probably wouldn't have bought it if i hadn't had my staff discount, because it was expensive at £18.99 for the powder and £8 for the velveteen powder puff (which is the best thing for applying it). Now though, i wouldn't go back to using any other powder, i tried another when i had run out of my Bobbi Brown and it looked and felt awful. The reason i like this product so much is that it doesn't stick to spots or dry skin like some others do, which only emphasises any imperfections. It is great for fixing concealer and foundation if you choose to wear them and works equally well on it's own to minimise shine. I also love the packaging they do. It all comes in a lovely black box with a red inside and corrugated card and the girls on the counter will do a really good job of gift wrapping things in a box with tissue and ribbons if you're giving any products as a gift. The little puff will last you forever if you're nice to it. I wash mine every so often along with the rest of my brushes using a little bit of baby shampoo, and then leave it out to dry on a towel which leaves it lovely and soft. Each pot of powder lasts me about a year and a half because the powder is so fine in comparison to other makes, which means that you use less. There is also a little grid inside the pot which prevents you from spilling any. So if your powder leaves you feeling a little floury and dry, opt for this one because i look just like an extremely short supermodel when i wear it!
