I am very picky about my foundation, I hate ones that are too heavy or in the least bit noticeable. So over the years I have tried and tested many and have finally found my favourite. It is the Bobbi Brown Moisturising Cream Compact Foundation and it is fab!
I have in the past tried liquid and powder foundations but to no avail and then a friend of mine suggested the Bobbi Brown compact foundations, so off I trotted to the Bobbi Brown counter in my local Frasers and asked the girls on the counter about it. They were very nice and offered to put it on so I could see what it was like on my skin and what its coverage was like. After looking at my skin and listening to what I wanted from the foundation they recommended the Moisturising Cream Compact Foundation, after trying out a couple of colours they settled on Sand and put it on. I loved the initial look as the coverage was very light, enough to even out small problem areas and give a good look and base to work from. It was almost like I wasn't wearing any at all which is exactly the look I wanted, so delighted with my trial I purchased the compact.
The foundation comes in a black compact with bobbi brown written across the top, when you open the compact there is a mirror in the inside lid and the foundation is in a tray, the sponge which is used for application is kept in a compartment underneath the foundation. (This compartment has air vents to keep the sponge aerated.) It is very easy to apply with the sponge and you are in complete control of how much you put on, it blends in very easily and provides an excellent base for any other make up. It provides all day coverage and is not drying to the skin with its special moisturizing formula, it is also supposed to soften the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and deliver a radiant finish!
As I said I opted for the colour Sand but there are 20 to choose from, ranging from Alabaster to Espresso. It is ideal for normal to dry skins - which is perfect as this pretty much sums up my skin. It covers any dry patches without clinging to them which is exactly what I was looking for.
You can purchase it from Bobbi Brown counters in all good department stores or from their website. The compact costs £26 but lasts for ages so is not bad value for money.
I would definitely recommend this compact foundation I find it perfect for my skin and delivers exactly what I am looking for from a foundation. Top marks to Bobbi Brown.
