Advantages: Pretty packaging.
Disadvantages: Not much staying power and very powdery.
I had never heard anything about Bobbypin or read any reviews, but, in the Boots sale after Christmas I was sucked in by the pretty packaging. The packaging was modern and funky, and very artistic, in my opinion it was benefit meets soap and glory. I just hoped that the make up lived up to the expectations set!
I bought the eyeshadow with some brushes, some nail files and some nail varnish. It was £15 for all of that, whcih in my opinion actually made the eyeshadow quite cheap and affordable. The eyeshadow set by itself does not contain any brushes, just beware if you are expecting it too. The eyshadow is packaged in a very slim box which has a flip on and off lid, whcih is magnetic. It is neat and easy to keep hold of and to take places. It takes up hardly any room. It has a clear plastic front which you can see some of the colours through. To stop this getting dusted up and messy I kept a spare piece of plastic over this. Eyeshadows can really dust up if you let them!
The eye shaodw colours were very pretty and covered quite a range. Lilac, brown, green and earthy neutrals. I personally never end up using all the colours as they just wouldn't suit me, but I used a good half of them, and then passed the other half I didn't use over to someone else. All in all good value for money.
The eyeshadows themselves had reasonble staying power, but were not amazing or striking in anyway. They were very powdery and muted so to get a distinct look you would have to build up lots of layers. This is not unusual in eyeshadow application, especially around this price range.
The eyeshadows are suitable for sensitive eyes, they didn't make my eyes itchy or dry out my skin as some eyeshadows seem to.
All in all these were pretty, easy to use generic eyeshadows, which were well worth the price I paid for them. If I came across them again I would definitely buy them, but I certainly wouldn't go out of my way to seek them out.
Summary: Pretty purchase and nice to have.
