The Body Collection is a brand of make-up which is available in stores such as Superdrug, Body Care, Boots and online. It is generally the cheaper alternative to more expensive brands, and this is certainly the case when it comes to false eyelashes. The "Natural Look Eyelashes", set me back about £3, which is half the price of similar brands. I do prefer a fuller look if I am wearing false eyelashes, as this really is the point of wearing them first place, however the Natural Look variety are the only ones Superdrug stock within the Body Collection range.
Applying the lashes:
As someone who is not a complete expert at applying false lashes, there are instructions on the back of the box, and the box does include the glue you will need to use although it's also advisable to have a pair of tweezers on hand to help position the lashes. You may also have to double check you have stuck the the right lash to each eye, as there is no "L" and "R" on the packaging like you would find with most brands of lashes.
As for the glue, I found it to be too similar to PVA glue for my liking. Although it does dry clear and is fairly good at keeping the lashes in place, it certainly isn't the best eyelash glue I have ever come across. As I have had these lashes unopened and unused for about a year, the glue had also gone slightly discoloured around the lid.
It states on the box that these lashes are handmade. The lashes themselves are very fine and slightly spaced, and there are about 20 individual lashes on each lash strip. Each of the individual lashes vary slightly in length, appearing fuller in the centre, with the smaller lengths appearing towards the outside. The strip to which these are attached in black, and can give the appearance of a very fine eyeliner.
Compared to my other lashes (by Nadine Coyle), these lashes appear considerably thinner, and although they are handmade there aren't very many individual lashes on each lash. When it says "natural look" it really does mean it! Unfortunately in my case I found his meant, I found there was no visible difference after I had applied these lashes over my natural ones, other than the false lashes were naturally more curved.
Overall, these lashes are the cheaper alternative to a more expensive brand, however I think you end up paying the price for this as the lashes do not give much of an impact. They perhaps would not be suitable for multiple use as the glue isn't particularly suitable and stuck to my eyelashes afterwards which required careful washing off.
I would recommend these lashes for those who have incredibly fine, short lashes who are looking for a daytime look or just general enhancement of the lashes without wanting to look over the top. Although they are good lashes, I don't think I will be using them again. I say this, as I accidentally hovered one of the lashes up shortly before commencing this review! And no, I had not been out on the lash. (Yes I know that was terrible!)
Good lashes, but not brilliant.
