Advantages: VERY SOFT
Disadvantages: A BIT DEAR
I have recently tried out the Boots Cosmetic Cotton Wool Pads and this is my review.
The Boots Cotton Wool pads are in a long plastic package and it contains about 100 pads. I paid about £1.50 for this from my local branch of Boots and this is an 'own brand' product so can only be bought in Boots stores. Boots is a drugstore with branches nation wide and there is a branch of the shop on most high streets in the UK. Boots also has a website where you can buy their products online.
The package is made of thin plastic and has strings at the top which can be pulled and this closes the pack. I like the design of the package cos I think it keeps out dust and dirt from the cotton wool and makes me think they are cleaner and more sterile to use which is important for me as I use cotton wool for first aid purposes as well as cosmetic purposes.
The Boots cotton wool pads are a round shape and are quite thick. They are made of cotton wool and I think they are thicker than a lot of other brands of cotton wool pads that I have bought before. I can separate a pad into two pieces which makes them last longer. The pads can not be separated for every use and it depends what I am wanting to use the cotton wool for. If removing nail polish for example I need to use a full pad as the nail polish remover is so wet that it soaks the pad completely.
The Boots cotton wool pads are not overly fluffy and this is good for when I am using them around my eyes to remove make up or if applying eye cream. I am always scared that some of the fluffy fleece from the cotton wool will end up in my eyes but this is not a big problem with the Boots version of the cotton wool pads.
The Boots cotton wool pads are lovely and soft and I think they are ideal to use around my eye area where as some other brands of cotton wool can feel a bit scratchy when it is rubbed on your skin. I don't think there would be any problem with using the Boots cotton wool pads on infants or babies as they really feel lovely and soft.
I have bought other brands of cotton wool pads in the past and have not found them to be as soft as I would like them to be so I think maybe that is why the Boots cotton wool pads are more expensive than other brands as they are maybe of a higher quality than other brands I have bought before.
The Boots cotton wool pads can be used for removing eye make up, taking off foundation and facial make up, removing nail polish and remover as well as applying toners or lotions to your face. As I said earlier, I also use cotton wool for first aid and I think that the Boots pads are good for cleaning cuts and stings and applying creams or TCP to cuts.
I would suggest giving the Boots Cosmetic Cotton Wool Pads a try out and I will keep buying them as I really like to use them for taking off my make up as well as my nail polish. I think they are a very good quality item and even though they cost a little more than other brands I think it is well worth paying a bit more money for these pads.
Summary: GOOD COTTON WOOL PADS
