Advantages: Cheap, good colours, readily available

Disadvantages: Needs base and top coat to work well

I am going through a little nail polish obsession at the moment. I don't question it i just go with the flow and this has resulted in me buying and trying a few brands. I bought this Boots 17 polish as they had a 3 for 2 deal on their 17 range. As i technically got the polish free it added incentive to try it out.

What they claim:
In a single coat you get a high shine colour in just 60 seconds.

The cost:
You get an 8ml bottle of this polish for £2.88, unless you have got it in an offer like me. They say it has been dermatologically tested but no more details are given. As with most nail polishes this is flammable.

What did i think?
The colour choice is great. Lots of summery shades that are not at all boring. I chose baked cherry a deep redy/pink. It looked beautiful in the bottle and the colour stayed true when applied. I would say that you can't get away with just one coat, not even on your toes. The colour goes on smooth enough and they say this is partly due to the precision brush. I agree that the brush helps you have a lot of control and this is particularly needed when applying a deep colour like i did. But you need two coats to get a totally opaque look. This may just be my application. I would rather do two thinner coats than one thick as i find the polish dries quicker this way and is less likely to chip. The bottle is small and simple in design (they've changed the packaging slightly from the picture shown, its now a little more angular than the previous rounded shape) and fits well into my polish container. Once applied the polish really does dry quickly. Not sure if 60 seconds is true but definately quicker than most i have tried. I always apply a quality top coat with all my polishes to help keep them chip free. The top coat helped and the polish stayed chip free for 3 days. Bear in mind i am a beast with my hands, i am rough with them and dont wear rubber gloves. When it came to removing the polish i had no problems at all. I do wear a base coat, but the polish did not stain my nails. I think if i skipped the base coat this would probably be different.

I liked this polish and would definately try out some of the other colours.

Summary: Well worth a try if you're after jazzing up your nails
