Advantages: Brilliant shine, dries quickly and lasts a good amount of time.

Disadvantages: I can't think of any with this product.

I'm very lazy when it comes to applying nail polish, I like it to be easy to apply, and quick to dry, whilst also making my nails look amazing. When it starts to chip, I'm usually too lazy to remove it and resign to covering up the small chips with another coat.

I've tried nail varnishes by several brands such as Avon, BarryM, No7 and even Nails Inc and whilst being impressed with some of them, I didn't find one in particular that has really amazed me. Infact, they all seem the same.

I don't really glance at the Boots 17 make-up range when I go into Boots. I usually think it's a bit cheap when it comes to most of their products. However I was buying some Maybelline mascara and my local Boots were getting rid of old "Gift with Purchase" sets, all of them by 17. I qualified for one so I grabbed a box which ended up containing the Fast Finish Nail Polish. The shade is 'Pink Lemonade' and it's a nice girly, pinky/peachy colour and I really liked the look of the shade so decided to give it a go.

Boots 17 Fast Finish Nail Varnish promises to give just that, a one coat job that will dry in 60 seconds. I have previously used Rimmel's 60 second nail varnish and I really wasn't impressed with that, I needed 2 coats and it didn't last long at all! Considering this nail varnish is priced at a small £2.88, cheaper than Rimmel's offering (£3.22), I wrongly assumed this would be just as bad.

The varnish comes in a tiny 8ml bottle and has the same theme as the other 17 products. The handle and applicator were good enough, and I had no problems with the brush when applying the varnish.

When I first used this nail varnish I was slightly dismayed as at first I found it to be quite runny. However I soon got used to the consistency of the varnish and found it really easy to apply. I found I could get away with one coat, the colour went on nicely and it turned out to be quite transparent.

Now it was time to test how quick it took to dry. I was pleasantly surprised to find it did dry within 60 seconds! I didn't blow on my nails at all, just simply left them whilst watching TV. I hate sitting waiting for nail varnish to dry so I was keen to move onto my other hand and have it finished!

After applying I was in awe. My nails were so SHINY. It's unbelieveable really! I don't think I've ever applied a varnish which has given such a nice glossy finish. I hold my hands out in front of me and I am very impressed, the colour is fab and they shine away nicely in the light. I'm shocked such a cheap varnish could provide better results than more expensive brands!

So, does it last? Well with Boots No7 I have found my nails start to chip away after only a day however not with this varnish. When I look closely I can see some very slight chipping on the edge of my nails, but nothing noticeable and 3 days later, my nails are still just as shiny and glossy.

I really recommend this varnish! I am interested in trying some of the other shades as the Pink Lemonade is a light and slightly transparent shade rather than a bold colour, and looking on the Boots website you will notice they do a good range of colours from subtle to bold.

You can't go wrong with this polish, and it only costs £2.88 so give it a go!

Summary: A cheap nail varnish that gives very good results.
