I spotted a gift set of Boots 17 products really cheap (£1 for eyeshadow, nail polish and mascara) so just had to get it, if only to test them out as I've not really used the brand before. Usually this eyeshadow costs £3.49 so I got great value for money here.

As you'd expect from something called Glitter Solo Eyeshadow, this is a glittery eyeshadow. The one I have is a silver colour but it also comes in white, pink, green, blue, gold, brown and black so there should be a colour for everyone.

The pot is a small screw top one with a clear top so you can see the eyeshadow colour through it. There's no applicator, but many products don't come with these so I have a set of brushes which I used.

The eyeshadow goes on very smoothly. I even tried applying it with a finger and ended up with a smooth even finish. The glitter is very fine so it's comfortable to wear with no scratchy bits, and it gives a shimmery look with a wash of colour rather than bold glitter. If you want a stronger look then this can be applied over another eyeshadow. I found that on its own it gave my eyes a glamerous look without being too much for daytime wear.

The durability is excellent. Unlike many glittery products, I didn't find shedded bits all over my face. The colour and sparkle lasted all day and I was impressed to find that it hadn't creased. When you need to remove it though, it easily comes off with eye make up remover. You don't need to scrub and irritate your eyes.

I thought this was a fantastic eyeshadow whether you want a subtly glamerous daytime look or glitzy party eyes, and I'll be off to pick up some more shades
