Disadvantages: Small colour selection, complete rubbish concealer
I first purchased the "Hide and Chic Eye Brightening Concealer" as on my Boots loyalty card I had a half price coupon making the product only £2.25 and for the price I thought I could give it a go and didn't have much to loose out on and if it wasn't great I hadn't spent the full £4.49. More recently I have been able to print off Boots coupons for a free tube too! So after reading this review and if you still want to try it, it might be worth checking!
I don't tend to suffer with really dark under eye circles but sometimes I do need something just to help conceal and brighten which is exactly what this product says it does. The packaging is a black pen like tube with a brush on the end which is incredibly soft and flexible. The concealer is dispensed through the tube by turning the base. I'm not usually a fan of brushes attached to make-up especially things like foundations and concealers as I like to be able to wash my brushes to help prevent bacteria, but I gave this a go anyway.
The product is available in 3 colours Light Rose, Medium Rose and Light Beige. I think a lot of people must have been given the money off coupons as the only shade they had available was Medium rose which I normally would have avoided as I have very fair skin but I didn't find this too dark for me at all. The first time I used this I dotted the liquid around my eye area and gently patted into my skin. The liquid itself is of a very thin consistency not so thin it runs down your face when applying because that would be silly but just so that it feels like a very thin cream. I'm not sure if I was expecting too much from the concealer itself but even after using several times I have noticed no difference at all. I don't feel that the supposed light reflecting particles made any impact on my eye area either. I've persisted and tried to use this by building up layers of the concealer and using it with another brush and each time it has made no difference to my eye area.
I'm glad that I didn't spend out the full £4.49 on this as I have been extremely disappointed with the product which isn't usually the case with 17 products.
Summary: Not for me
