Advantages: Easy to use, great packaging, gives lovely results
Disadvantages: Expensive for the amount of product you get (but easy to use lol)
I find buying a foundation to suit my skin tone a total nightmare! I hate running out of it and it's one of the only make up items I actually let that happen to as I dread re-buying any.
Well sadly I needed it and the other day in Boots I had a lot of free money on my reward card and if I spent £5.00 I got a free little box of goodies as well and for free to me, this seemed a great opportunity to stock up on some new and fresh items to revamp my look with.
The Packaging...
Oblong dark grey slightly shiny flip open case. On the top left hand corner in bright silver writing is the number 17 and then in light blue and silver writing on the left hand side I'm told it's Pure Finish Mineral Foundation. My chosen colour is on the front with the wording soft ivory on it in the form of a peel off label. On the bottom of the compact and on dark grey sticky labels with white writing on I'm told a bit about the product, contact details for Boots are given and the recycle symbol is shown, ingredients are listed and once again my colour is stated as is the size (9g) and bar-code. Nice enough packaging but lots of it! Flip open the case (which is easy and the top part houses a very large and proper oblong mirror and then on the bottom there is two sections to it, one housing a slab of soft looking powdery foundation the other a square sponge which is almost the same size as the foundation. I do like the mirror and the sponge and it's nice and compact to carry about if you wish to do so and it is strong and not one bit flimsy and is of good quality.
A Bit About The Packaging According To The Bottom Of The Compact....
17 Pure Finish Mineral Foundation is enriched with minerals for a naturally, luminous complexion. Non-pore blocking formulation helps your skin breathe whilst concealing imperfections for a beautiful, flawless finish. Lasts all day for shine free confidence.
Using It....
One word of advice. Do be careful when choosing a colour from within this range. I went for the lightest shade available (to my eyes) with little testing in the shop believing I couldn't go wrong. However I did because the colour is a little dark for me but I can get away using it if I only use a small amount and blend it into my face very well.
Using it is very simple indeed to do. Smooth the soft white sponge gently over the odourless foundation and it comes off gently without marking the foundation block that is left in the compact or making any mess at all. It really isn't messy to use this, and basically it's like applying pressed powder to the sponge and then onto the face.
You can of course use this over moisturiser (though do really let it dry first or this will clog over moisture as it's a bit powdery) and then simply smooth and blend on the face. It goes on evenly, smoothly, covers up imperfections rather well (such as light acne scarring, spots and blackheads) and feels very light on the skin indeed and skin actually feels very natural.
To the touch skin feels silky and once on the face it seems to stay put all day long and is easily removed with just your usual make up removing routine.
Skin looks healthy with this on, smooth, luminous (in a natural, mature way) and what is nice about it is due to the fact it goes on like a powder and mattes down the skin I don't need to use pressed/loose powder over the top of this if I don't want to which has to better for your face!
I notice with this I don't get any shiny breakouts, no creasing and it doesn't even transfer anywhere.
At £5.86 I do think it's expensive for the amount of product you get however it is top quality stuff in my opinion and the mirror and sponge and the robustness of the case is great! It works, it's light and I really do like it!
