Advantages: Easy to apply, good value, lasts day/night

Disadvantages: Squirts at random sometimes

17 Sheer Cool Foundation

This is my normal foundation. I've tried others that are lower and higher in price but I always come back to 17 Sheer Cool Foundation as it suits me.

As this is a 17 product, you will only find it in Boots at £4.49. Only in the shops as it's not available on the website like many of the 17 range products.

It has got up in price since the package has changed. I remember when I was younger buying this for about £3.00. Although, it is more expensive now for whatsoever reasons, it's still worth buying it. The tube I had before this lasted me for 3 months and I use it daily.

There's a variety of different tones you can get to suit your skin. I chose Nicely Natural as it suits my skin tone. The other colours are Perfectly Fair, Nearly Nude, Delicate Beige and Warm Amber.

Like I said, they've changed the packaging since I've been using it. It used to be in a clear plastic bottle with a pump and it had 50ml in it but now, it's in a silver tube with see through sections where you can see the colour of the foundation. It contains 40ml.

All the foundations in the 17 range have the same packaging except for minor differences like Sheer Cool has a small snowflake attached to the circle, where it says Sheer Cool. The same packaging for all of the 17 range of foundations can be confusing especially if you're in a rush. Just last week, I ended up buying Shine Control. To be honest, there's not much difference in the foundations in the 17 range (Barely there, Moisture Tint, Shine Control etc.) except some are easier to apply to your face than others. There's one except to that rule and it's you've guessed it Sheer Cool Foundation and in a moment I will tell you why.

There's a coverage guide at the back of the tube. Nicely Natural is classed as light. I'm not sure on the other tones, as I don't buy those.
A good thing about this foundation is that protects you from the sun as it has a SPF (Sun Protection Factor) 10. Also it contains aloe Vera and it soothes and moisturises my skin every time I use it.

So I'm here I am with a small mirror in front of me and I will apply my foundation. Sheer cool doesn't need a base moisturiser like I do with some other foundation. It's ready to be used on your bare face. To cover my face, I need about 3 squirts of about the size of 5p coin (4-5 squirts if it's for going out clubbing).
This is for covering my whole face and for the blending in so you don't have those nasty white patches. Be careful with the tube though, as it can squirt everywhere and especially if you're trying to get that last bit out, it might hit your clothes, the mirror, shoes etc like it did me. All over the jumper I'd just put on.

Although the coverage guide says it's light, which it is, it covers spots really well. When I was younger, this make up was my saviour. I always had a lot of spots until the age of 19. This foundation and of course, a cover stick made me be able to go out and not be too ashamed of my spotty face.

Back to the mirror, I use my fingertips and spread the make up around my face, blending it in as I go. There, I'm done. It looks very natural and that's the way I like it. Now the rest of my make-up, bear with me. I'll come back tonight and let you know how I do.

Well, I'm back. I've done some shopping, worked 4-hour shift in a hot restaurant and cooked tea. How does the foundation look now? It's slightly fade which is to be expected but I still look the same. A natural looking me.

I said that I used more for when I go clubbing. This is for making the foundation look less natural and daytime and to take it upbeat and make more nighttime. I can tell you with this foundation, you won't see me in the toilets touching up my foundation. This foundation is here to stay until I roll in at 3 o'clock in the morning.

Ok, time to take off my make up now. I get one of my wipes out and start. Only thing about this foundation is, because it lasts through the day it's quite hard to remove.

All in all, this foundation is good value for money. It's easy to apply and slightly harder to remove so it lasts all day/night.

Summary: Great Moisturiser
