“ Brand: Boots 17 / Type: Foundation / Subcategory: Powder „
I bought this last week from Boots for £5.49.
The pot itself is black in colour and it comes complete with a lid. The lid is easy to remove as it just unscrews itself from the pot. I can even open the pot with cream on my hands, which is a bonus! Inside the pot is another lid with small "holes" in it that allow a small amount of the powder to come through at a time. The powder comes in two shades (I believe) and I chose the lighter shade as I have rather pale skin. I use the powder with one of my ecotools blusher brushes and I apply the powder in circular motions to my facial skin. I apply the powder over tinted moisturiser or a make-up base. Applying the powder over something else gives you better results as the powder lasts a lot longer and it gives much better coverage. I have used the powder alone before (over bare skin) but you don't really see any results so it's much better when used with something else. It also works well with the pore fessional lotion from benefit cosmetics.
The powder helps to mattify the skin reducing excess oil and sebum. I find this a great bonus as I suffer from shiny skin as it is. This powder is great for covering spots and blemishes and it's quite light so it doesn't clog the pores, allowing your skin to breathe.
For the price I think this is excellent quality. I prefer it to the loose powder from Clinique as I think this one gives better coverage. The powder is also long lasting. Mine hardly looks like i've touched it and i've had it for a week tomorrow!
Excellent loose powder from Boots and their 17 range.
I have used this product for years through many different types of packaging! Presently it comes in a small pot with a screw off lid.
It does not come with a powder puff which is annoying as it used to. The plastic lid which is inside the pot is easy to get off unlike some powders where I end up spilling half of it on my duvet!
The powder is fine and a good neutral colour. I use the transparent one and it matches my skin tone well. I have lent it to my friend who has darker skin than mine and it is a good match for her as well. It sets my foundation well and lasts longer than other powders I have tried. It is matt which is really good, far too may powders have sparkly bits which I do not like, but this product is really good.
I have very greasy skin and it keeps the oil at bay for a good couple of hours - which may not sound a long time but it is longer than any other I have tried! I often manage to get 3 for 2 at boots which is a good saving as the powder costs around £5 a pot.
A little goes a long way. I get through a pot every three months or so with daily use.
i first bought this after i was using the usual no17 loose powder but noticed that it wasnt keeping oil away that well. so i bought the shine control version. now this is the best oil control ever, seriously if this discontinued i would be devastated. anyway all i do is put it on a light dusting over concealer to set it then put it on over my foundation.its fantastic if applied at 5 am it will last all the way to seven - eight pm.(i have very oily skin)
