Just bought this simply because it was the next cheapest lipgloss in Boots neext to natural collection, so i thought i'd give it a whirl. Priced at £3.99 this is very cheap and affordable if you want to 'enhance' your lips.
The packaging is a clear tube with a screw on and off lid with a wand attached. At the end of the wand is a angled sponge applicator which makes it easy to apply the product to your lips. There are a variety of colours in the no.17 ultimate volume lipgloss range. All of the colours are very wearable and quite neutral in the range. I'm not sure if they have simply rebranded this product but it looks like you can no longer buy it. No.17 is now 'seventeen' but they still have a lipgloss at the same price. I have this one in 'peachy'.
I really like how the lipgloss applies, it goes on really well. However i find it doesn't taste very nice and it is quite greasy. It reminds me of putting on a watered down vasaline. Having said that it means my lips don't dry out. The overall look this lipgloss gives is not flattering to me at all. It highlights all the crevasses on my lips and highlights them as the lipgloss is very shiny rather than glossy. I prefer my lipglosses to be a bit thicker in texture so this one is not for me. The gloss doesn't last very long either.
Overall, not a great product in my opinion and it is better to save your money and go for a more expensive brand that has a better quality product. It wasn't anything special and I am not likely to finish the tube. It will be seeing my bin very soon. I have had it for 4 years and I've barely used any of it.
Thanks for reading
I have 2 of these lip glosses - one is the old packaging design as pictured above, in the pale pink shade which didn't suit me and looked a bit tacky so this was barely used and I decided to try another shade recently.
The packaging has changed slightly and now has black writing rather than the silver, and the dark blue lid has been replaced with a black one. The tube is clear so you can see the colour of the gloss inside, and a sticker on the end of the tube has the name of the shade.
The choice of shades is a little strange to me, the shade I bought most recently is 'In The Nude' which is probably the most neutral shade available in this range. The other selections are mainly various pinks which go from a pale 'Star Girl' through to a dark purplish 'Very Berry'. The colour choices are fairly bold and I think some more neutral choices would make the range more popular.
This lip gloss costs £3.99 for an 8ml tube.
The Boots website describes this product as:
Get glossy with the SEVENTEEN Ultimate Volume Lip Gloss!
Giving a slick of intense colour and shine, lips look full and plumped.
SEVENTEEN Ultimate Volume Lip Gloss, for lips that are good enough to kiss!
I describe this product as:
Thick, heavy, artificial looking and makes your lips anything but kissable (unless you want a real mess). It does make my lips look a bit more full and plump, but also very heavily made up.
To start with the positives, it is fairly easy to apply and the applicator is a good size and also the length of it means it goes right to the end of the tube (if you make it that far it would be useful rather than tilting the tube and poking around), the nude colour is nice and has a lovely shimmery effect which looks nice.
The main negative is the feel of the gloss, it is extremely thick and sticky and doesn't soak into the lips well at all. When wearing this I am constantly aware of it as it feels so heavy and unpleasant.
I prefer a gloss which feels more light and natural, also a brand which offers a wider selection of shades and also is longer lasting so I wouldn't buy this lip gloss again.
When it comes to lipglosses I really am as a general rule not a fan of them. However I see them on other women, have friends who look great wearing them so from time to time I do go and buy one to give a whirl and this is one of my one recent purchases from Boots.
This 8ml tub only cost me £3.99 and add to that at the time Boots 17 had an offer on that I took advantage of, of buy one get another product half price! I was very pleased with this offer and do be aware that Boots often have some offer or another on cosmetics!
This comes in a plastic see through tube and down one side of it we are clearly told what it is and who it is by and then on the back of it the colour is stated as is the size of it and contact details for Boots are given. The appicator is a long wand attached to a screw on/off lid and is a white, sponge and slightly angled to help with application.
The lipgloss Itself:
At the moment this is available in 9 colours, one being a clear option and the rest being pinks and mauves in the main with a couple of light brownish tones in the mix. The colour I went for is a shade called 'In The Nude' which is a light sort of browny colour and pretty neutral though of course it is a colour.
This is easy to apply, smooth and none greasy and I can apply this directly to my lips or over my lipstick, inside a lipliner....really any way that I want to. I find that whatever comes out of the tube on the applicator is more than enough to apply to my lips and its very easy to apply for me and leaves my lips looking slightly plumper, more glossy and certainly more kissable...however....
Although I like the look I get with this, this does come off on anyone and anything quite quickly. If I just stand around and pout then this can stay on my lips for about an hour before disappearing but as as I smoke or drink it comes off and I feel the need to reapply! Not my style I'm afraid, who is that vain apart from Helen on I'm a celebrity eh lol!
For the results this gives when applied I give it 4 stars without hesitation however that goes down to 2 stars because it won't stay on and I'm not vain and can't be bothered to keep whipping it out and topping it up every few minutes. A product full of promise but turned out to be a bit of a let down in the long run sadly!
Only available from Boots stores.
The lip gloss is made by 17 which is Boots own brand so is only available to buy from Boots stores. The lip gloss costs just £3.99 and comes in 8 different colours which are mainly all different shades of pink. The lip gloss I purchased how-ever is clear and is called Crystal. The gloss claims to provide a slick of intense and glossy colour that will leave lips looking full and plumped. I picked this up because I just wanted a clear lip gloss that I could wear over my current lipstick so it appeared shinier and lasted longer. I didn't want to have to buy a really expensive lip gloss so I chose this one from the 17 range as it was good value and cheaper than other brands that were available to buy.
~ PACKAGING ~
The lip gloss comes in a clear plastic tube which holds 8ml of gloss. You can see the colour of the product inside the tube which in my case is clear so I can actually see the wand in the tube. The lid of the wand is black and the whole lip gloss is sealed in a plastic wrapper to ensure it hasn't been used before purchasing. On the lip gloss tube it states that the product is 17 and it also says 'Ultimate Volume' on the tube as well. The lip gloss applicator wand which is inside the tube is white and reaches all the way down to the bottom of the tube. It has a fluffy looking bit of the end of the wand which is used to apply the lip-gloss.
~ USING THE PRODUCT ~
I used the product on its own and not over any lipstick at first. The product is easily too apply and goes onto my lips very easily. The lip gloss doesn't feel sticky when it's on my lips and it leaves my lips looking shiny, which are more eye-catching. I have also used the lip gloss on top of my favourite lip gloss. This make the lipstick look really shiny and makes it stand out a lot more. The applicator on the end of the wand has gone a light pink colour which is from the lipstick; how-ever I'm not bothered about this.
Although I had the lip gloss on it didn't feel as though I had because there was no stickiness to the gloss which was nice. The lip gloss isn't very long lasting and I find that it does wear off very quickly, especially when out on the town having drinks.
~ OVERALL OPINION ~
The gloss made my lips really glossy and shiny and the overall look of the lip gloss was really good. Even though the lip gloss was very glossy it didn't appear to make my lips looking fuller as the products claims to. I'm happy with using the lip gloss on its own or over my current lipstick. For the price I paid the product does enough for me and I will continue to use it, until it's finished. I'm not sure whether I would buy the lip gloss again as I want something that lasts a bit longer than this. I give the product 4 out of 5 stars as I can't really complain much about it for the price I paid.

I am always trying new products when it comes to makeup. One product that I have yet to find my perfect one is a plumping lip gloss. There are a couple which I do like but they just aren't perfect, this lead me to try the ultimate volume gloss from the Boots 17 range.
The gloss comes in a long tube with a sponge applicator. The tube is see through which allows you to see the colour that you are getting. The sponge applicator is of a good size to hold just enough product to spread evenly over your lips.
**Using the lip gloss**
This may seem strange but the first thing I always do when I get a new lip gloss is smell it. This one unfortunately isn't anything special and doesn't smell of anything at all really.
Next is the important part, the application. As I previously mentioned the applicator picks up just enough product to coat your lips. It glides on really smoothly and is an almost cream like consistency. I hate gloopy glosses and glosses that look layered and messy but this one applies perfectly and evenly.
I have this product in the shade 'star girl' which is a baby pink. On my lips the colour is gorgeous. It is lovely and pigmented and it glistens in the light. My lips have a gorgeous sheen and look moisturised but do they look volumised?
When I applied the gloss I was waiting for the tingling sensation that I have come to recognise from volumising products however when this didn't happen I thought perhaps this was different from other products that I have used and volumised my lips in another way. After waiting a minute or so after applying the gloss it was clear that nothing extraordinary was going to happen. My lips do not look any more volumised after wearing this lip gloss.
Despite not being volumising this is quite a good lip gloss. I like the colour and the performance of the product. It stays on my lips for a couple of hours after application and all in all looks good.
**Price and availability**
This product is available from Boots stores priced at £3.99.
Although I did not get the results that I was expecting after wearing this lip gloss I still use it as I really like the colour. If you are looking for a volmising product then this one is not for you however if you a looking for a cheap and cheerful lip gloss that will give your lips a lovely glossy sheen than perhaps you should give this one a go.

17 is a make up range exclusive to Boots.
Ultimate Volume is a lip gloss range within the 17 brand. Ultimate Volume Lip Gloss is designed to provide an intese colouring to the lips whilst giving them a "plumped" appearance. The gloss is hypoallergenic and doesn't contain any fragrance.
Ultimate Volume Lip Gloss is currently available in 9 shades ranging from clear, pale pinks, dark pinks and mauve shades.
The lip gloss is presented in a clear plastic tube with black writing. The shade can be seen through the plastic and is written on the tube. The tube has a screw off lid which reveals a long wand and sponge applicator. The tube can be recycled and the gloss has shelf life of 12months.
A 8ml gloss can be bought from www.boots.com or instore and is priced at £3.99.
17 isn't a brand I buy often but I spotted a small gift with purchase set available in my local Boots. It had an eyeliner, eye shadow and lip gloss and only cost £1.50 so I treated myself to it off my advantage card points. 17 often have special offers on whereby if you purchase 2 products you get a set like this for free which I consider a bargain!
My lip gloss is in shade 'Very Berry' though I do have 'Pink Ice' which I received in another gift set. The tube is sleek and easy to hold as is the wand. The brush applicator is gentle on my lips though is quite big and I find it awkward to apply the gloss around the smaller areas of my lips (the corners). I would say anyone with thinner lips would struggle to apply this without making a mess.
*Colour Me Happy*
The shade choice available is decent enough and there is plenty to suit a girly girl though I wouldn't say there are many shades to satisfy the maturer lady. Very Berry isn't a shade I would have picked up in a shop as it is a deep red/purple shade and is very intense. Pink Ice is a pale, girly pink and is perfect for day time wear in my opinion. I don't wear lip stick or anything though do like to have some natural gloss on for day time wear and something with a bit more intensity if I am going out at night.
The gloss has quite a thick consistency and feels quite heavy on my lips. I admit that I do like a nice smell and taste to my gloss but this one tastes plasticky so isn't very nice. It spreads well but does leave my lips feeling tacky for 30mins or so after applying so not ideal for wearing on a windy day as my hair sticks to my lips!
This gloss isn't particularly moisturising. If you have dry lips like I do, you will need to use a lip scrub or balm underneath to give a moisture boost as the gloss settles into every cracker and line and the darker colour looks awful if I do not moisturise my lips first. To be honest, I feel that it actually dries my lips out further.
My lips have a nice shine once I have finished applying my gloss. I have naturally plump lips and didn't notice any additional plumping effects whilst using this gloss and there is no tingling feeling which one would expect from a plumping gloss. The glossiness doesn't last all that long and the colour soon turns rather matte on my lips and doesn't look as nice.
Both shades I have used have reflected the colour swatches or the colour by looking into the tube. Very Berry looks silly against my medium skin if I apply on its own. If I am done up with all my other make up on, it blends in well and gives my lips a gorgeous colouring. It is intense and looks like a deep red with purple hints and really makes my lips stand out - it is quite daring though and reserved for rare nights out.
The Pink Ice is much more natural on my lips and is a girly pink which looks good alone or with very light make up. It is fairly subtle though noticeable on my lips. The darker colour starts to fade and go patchy after 2hours or so and needs topped up. It does transfer slightly if I am eating or drinking. The lighter shade fades very quickly so staying power is minimal.
Each 8ml tube will last me ages as only a small slick is needed to provide ample coverage (even if it is short lived). I find the quality of this gloss to be "OK". I do feel more could have been done to enhance the moisturising qualities of this gloss as it dries out my lips if not worn with a balm underneath. It isn't my favourite gloss but it is affordable and looks good but don't expect plumping!
Thanks for reading x
When me, my mum and my sister went a "girls day out" event in my city, Boots handed out a free bag as a gift for actually buying the ticket. Amongst it were some boots products and this is one that was in it. This product, otherwise, is exclusive to boots and can only be bought there.
When I got the lip gloss, the fist thing I noticed was the colour. Mines is "pink ice" and I thought it was stunning. It came in a clear bottle so you could clearly see what colour it was. It was a 6ml tube with a black lid, a very cheap look but after all it is a cheap product. I thought this would probably mostly suit darker-skinned girls and for me being so light skinned it wouldn't suit me, but it did look so lush anyway. You can get it in some darker shades also such as red and burgundy colour.
The brush itself is a very fluffy brush and it does feel good when gliding across the lips. Although I find the brush very small and it doesn't cover a very large area of the lips at all. When I removed the brush from the container, it makes a very squishy noise it was very disgusting.
When removing it, I pulled it out slowly and a long line of lip-gloss was being pulled out, it felt very gummy, and very extremely sticky. When I first saw this, I was a bit nervous to actually put this on my lips because it looked so sticky and disgusting. The lip-gloss is completely opaque and I don't know how to explain the look, but almost like a milky creamy texture. It was just more like a sticky lipstick rather than having any glossy features to it. It does have a very glittery shine to it and this does look very pretty and lush, although it does make up for the yukky texture.
When it applies it goes on pretty thick, so you really do have to give it a good rub to get into your lips. When it was on, it honestly just looked a bit white to me and it really enhanced the cracked in my lips. There was a huge sparkle to it although you could hardly see it because the lip gloss was so light and white looking. I thought it made my lips look horrible to be honest and I didn't like it at all. It felt so sticky on my lips and when I put them together and pulled them apart, lines of lip gloss were stringing between them. It wasn't a pleasant sight at all.
When you lick your lips there is not taste nor is there a fragrance, just a sticky lip gloss taste.
As for volumising, I didn't notice my lips looked any larger or anymore "plumped". They just looked very strange and very yucky, like a horrible pink, milky cream.
I can't tell you how durable it is and how long it ill last on your lips, and how long the bottle will last. The reason is because I had to remove it straight away because it was just so sticky and uncomfortable. It felt so heavy on my lips and I couldn't have a comfortable night knowing it was there on me.
When I removed the lipstick, my lips felt very greasy for a while afterwards. I kept washing my lips and rubbing them just to get the grease off them it was a horrible experience I thought it was just overall disgusting.
£4 from Boots... don't do it!
I got a tube of 17's Ultimate Volume lip gloss as part of a free gift when I bought some other products from the 17 range a while back. Whilst I was happy to give this a try, it was not a product I would have chosen for myself as I feel that my lips are quite full and pouty and don't really need any extra volume!
The lip gloss is packaged in a clear tube and has the product name written in a rather nice font on the front. The lid is black and serves as the handle for the wand which has an angled sponge tip. Whilst it's nice and doesn't look overly cheap, I don't feel there is much to make the lip gloss stand out from others I own, in terms of packaging.
The colour of gloss I have is called pink ice and is a frosty pink shade. As this was received as part of a free gift I had no choice over the colour, but if I had, I think I would have gone for something a little more neutral, as the silvery frost look is a little old fashioned and dare I say tacky. Having checked the Boots website it seems that there are eight colours available in this range, most of which appear to be pink or purple shades.
I found the gloss to be quite thick and when applying it to my lips it required a little bit of pressure on the wand to spread it out properly.
The tube describes this gloss as 'colour intensive' and I would say that is pretty accurate. I didn't expect such a solid colour from the gloss and it did go on quite patchy at first. I had to really use the sponge to blend it and make sure that my lips were covered evenly. If I'm honest my personal preference would be to have something a little bit more sheer, but in fairness though, the colour did stay true to how it looked in the tube. Due to the fact that the colour is very solid, I don't think this is one of those glosses that can be worn over the top of lipstick.
As for adding volume, I personally didn't think so. As I say, my lips are quite full to begin with, so maybe if I had thinner lips any difference may be more pronounced, however as far as I could see, there was no change for me.
Once on the lips the gloss doesn't feel too bad. One of the things I hate is sticky lip gloss, or lip products that feel heavy on the lips. This one, I found I couldn't really feel whilst it was on my lips, which is a huge plus point for me.
I found that the lip gloss lasted well and the colour stayed strong. I have found in the past that glosses seem to disappear in the middle of the mouth leaving a horrible ring of gloss around the edge of the lips but thankfully this didn't happen here. I'd say it probably lasts around the 3 hour mark.
Unfortunately when eating or drinking the gloss seems to come off, and begins to look quite patchy, so this meant that it needed to be re-applied.
The gloss costs £3.99 and is only available from Boots stores or at www.boots.com.
Overall, I thought this was a reasonable product, but I don't think I would buy another tube. The colour was strong, but it's quite patchy and difficult to apply due to the thickness. I like that it doesn't feel heavy or sticky and it lasts quite well, but it didn't add volume which is what it claims to do and there was nothing particularly special about it, so I feel it is only worth two stars.
// 17 ULTIMATE VOLUME LIP GLOSS \\
This lip gloss is available from Boots for £3.99.
The lip gloss comes in a plastic tube which contains 8ml of the gloss, the tube itself is clear so therefore you can see the colour of the gloss which you are getting.
The lid of the lip gloss is black and to use you twist it of and this then reveals a stick with a decent looking wand attached.
Over the tube is the 17 logo and the name of the lip gloss.
When I look at the lip gloss it doesn't really say much to me, it doesn't scream out 'volume' and the packaging actually looks quite cheap and tacky.
17 Ultimate Volume lip gloss is meant to provide a 'slick' of intense colour and gloss which gives the illusion of fuller, plumped lips.
As I know of the lip gloss comes in 9 colours to choose from, some which include:
Crystal: This is a clear lip gloss which is suited to any occasion and any girl, clear gloss is an essential in my opinion.
Peachy: A very very light pink, a flattering colour which I think would look great on most skin types, its also very natural but can be very dramatic depending on how you do your make up.
Very Berry: This is probably the darkest of the glosses, a quite deep dark purple which I think would look very flattering on fair skin. The look with this on I imagine would be very dramatic, I don't see or know of many people who can pull of a dark shade of gloss and look natural.
There is also more colours to choose from so more than likely you will find something which suits you.
I was given this gloss as a present from my auntie for babysitting! how lovely.
The colour which I have is 'Pink Ice' which is a gorgeous baby pink colour.
The application of the gloss is very easy and the wand gives provides just the right amount of lip gloss and glides across the lips quite easily.
The colour comes out a lot lighter than it looks in the tube therefore I don't really have that colour pink no matter how much or how many times I apply, the colour comes out quite clear and very natural with a little colour of pink which comes through, not really that intense if I'm honest.
My lips didn't look 'fuller' or 'plumped' as it said they would of, they looked the same to me so that bit of information is very misleading, maybe it was just me though?...
I also found the gloss came of quite easily and needed to be reapplied every hour or so..
There was ONE good thing though, the gloss isn't sticky and feels very nice to have on!
Overall, I wouldn't go out and purchase this myself, for £3.99 I don't think its worth it, there are a lot better and cheaper ones out there that give better colour results and make your lips look fuller.
I received Boots17 Ultimate Volume in a gift set I was given for my birthday a few years ago. I have normal sized lips but was interested to see the results that this product would give.
I had the Stargirl shade which is a pinky natural coloured gloss so it is perfect for daytime or evening wear. Boots 17 Ultimate Volume gave my lips a much fuller appearance with loads of extra volume but luckily still looked natural. Also, unlike with some volume boosting lip products, this one has no tingling effect when applied which is so much better than waiting for your lips to feel normal again.
The gloss stays on well even when eating and drinking and the volume doesn't diminish over time either so you don't need to keep reapplying it.
For daytime wear this product is perfect for healthier, fuller looking lips with noticeable effects. For evening occasions I would recommend using over the top of a volume boosting lipstick such as Rimmel Volume Booster lipstick (please see my review on that for more information) for an even bigger impact.
If you're looking for fairly subtle results this isn't the product for you as lips do appear noticeably more plump but if you want a dramatic affect that still looks natural this is definitely for you!
Boots 17 Ultimate Volume Lip Gloss
I couldn't resist buying this lip gloss as the price was cheap and I was in need of a clear lip gloss. For under £4 you get a tube which holds 8ml of product and does come in a range of different colours.
I opted for the clear gloss as I mostly like a natural look for my lips. The price is a lot cheaper than most and the fact that the lip gloss itself is not sticky was a real bonus. I hate wearing a lip gloss that when the wind blows your hair gets all stuck to your lips.
The screw cap on the lip gloss is easy to open and reveals a good sized wand with which to apply the product to the lips. This is easy to use but will pick up any other lip colours of foundation that is on your lips and eventually turn the clear lip gloss a murky colour if you are not too careful.
The lip gloss is not too thick but gives a nice feel to the lips as it is applied and this makes the lips feel moisturised and nourised for a good while after application. I can not however say that there was any signs of the lip gloss giving me "ultimate volume" and I saw no improvement in the size of my already pouty lips!
However I do know that I like the fact it was cheap, it makes my lips feel nourished and it comes in a good array of colours or this clear version that I have.
It most certainly isn't a lip gloss I would use if I wanted volume but I have used it more than I have used any other lip gloss I have for the fact that it is a nice high gloss but not sticky!
I think a score of 4 stars out of 5 is in order and a recoemendation but just don't expect oo much!
At Boots today I spotted a mini 'Travel Make Up Kit' By Boots 17 for a bargain £1.50. The set contains a mini mascara, a nail polish and a tube of 17 Ultimate Volume Lip Gloss in Pink Ice.
This is described as 'colour intense lip gloss for fuller looking lips'. It is packaged in 6ml clear tube, black lid, with a sponge applicator tip attached to the wand. A regular sized 8ml tube retails at £3.49 only available at Boots stores and online and comes in 9 different shades.
The colour is a very pale and slightly shimmery pink. It is way too light for my colouring. It looks quite artificial in that it seems to sit on top of the lips and looks a bit gooey and cakey. It is quite glossy, and does have a nice thick consistency. It is slightly sticky, and you can feel it 'clogging' your lips.
It is supposed to be fragrance free, but it does have an awful taste, I know you are not supposed to eat this, but premium brands do tend to taste better. It is also dermatologically tested, so hopefully should be ok on sensitive skin.
It feels cool on the lips and has a very faint tingle to it, which I suppose is the plumping effect, although it does not plump lips up in the slightest. It doesn't last very long on the lips either and wears off quite easily.
I think that this range is targeted at teens, so I'm probably being overly critical. I feel that it is worth the £1.50 I paid for the little travel set though.
Would I recommend this product? For me personally the answer would have to be no. However it would be suitable for the younger set, its glossy, looks nice, and comes in a good range of colours that are very fashionable that will appeal to teenagers. However it is not a product I would buy again for myself, I'm sticking to 'grown up' brands.
The reason I'm giving it 3 stars is that I feel it is a good lipgloss for others, its just not the right one for me.
I found this gloss somewhere in my room and I thought I'd forgotten about it! It hadn't been round my room for long, but I can't remember exactly when I'm guessing I bought it two months ago since I bought it, so I started giving it a go.
these glosses come in a range of colors including : clear, berry, pink, peach and red.
Even though it says on the product that it gives you fuller lips, well my lips stayed the same to be honest, looked no different applying this stuff on!
I got the clear one, and when I applied it it looked gloppy rather than glossy, so that's a no-no with lip glosses! I know some lip glosses that do a better job!
As well I can tell you this - the gloss doesn't even last twenty minutes it like rubs off straight away!
Sadly this product does cost a fair bit around four pounds - which is a waste of money. You can get cheaper brands of lip gloss which do a better job!
It is only sold in Boots stores as it is a Boots Brand.
Personally, I won't buy this product again, as it too expensive, doesn't give me fuller lips (bad advertisement!) and it like swipes off within a short amount of time! So this product is a huge no-no for me and is just another of those products when you're on a make-up budget - Just don't buy!
ULTIMATE VOLUME 17 LIP GLOSS
I never used to wear lip gloss, until I released my lips looked to pale compared to my complection. I went into Boots looking for a colour boost and found this product.
About the product
Made by 17 Boots. It is called 'Ultimate Volume 17'. The description reads 'colour intense lip gloss for fuller lips'. The tube comes in an 8ml size which is the averzage size for available lip glosses out there. Made in England!
Tube / Packaging
The tube comes with a clear plastic sealant which is great as you wouldn't really beable to tell if someone had used it otherwise. The tube is clear which is great so you can the colour of the lip gloss before purchasing. It has a black wind up lid which has a stick and sponge applicator attached. It is made of hard plastic and is very sturdy.
It measures approx 12cm in length so ideal for handbag or make up bag. The only disadvantage I have found is the first one I bought started leaking around the lid after about 8 weeks. The second one purchased had so far not leaked.
I originally bought shade a darker rich picky colour similar to the one cheryl cole uses. The sponge applicator is great for applying onto lips. It gives me just the right amount and has not damaged through use. I find it really easy to use and can apply in ten seconds!
The finish of this lip gloss is superb. The colour is really intense and lasts on me for up to 6 hours. The product is called ultimate volume and claims to give fuller lips. I think this is very misleading as I didn't notice any plumped up or fuller lips. I bought this product again in a shimmery pink as I find the colours intense!
Price and Availability
I bought this product from Boots. I can't remember the exact price but I think it cost £3.99, it definately wasn't more than a fiver. I think this is reasonable for 8ml.
This product is easy to apply, achieves fantastic colour although does NOT do what it says on the side 'ultimate volume'!! If you want ultimate volume don't buy this product.
Thanks for reading
Summary: Rich colour but not volumising! <3
I bought this lipgloss recently as I like to have a clear lip gloss in my handbag at all times to put over whatever lipstick I happen to have on. It's also nice to wear a clear lip gloss on it's own for a more casual look. I bought this anticipating the tingling sensation caused by some plumping/volumising lip glosses, so was disappointed that it didn't.
About Boots 17 Range: The Boots 17 Range has been developed and marketed towards the teenage or early twenties market. It is affordable and trendy and there are often offers such as ' a free gift when you spend £5'.
Packaging: The packaging is a pretty boring clear tube with the words 'Ultimate Volume' printed on it, and a black lid. The lip gloss is appiled with the sponge type applicator that comes with most lipglosses.
Shade: The shade I have based my review on is 'Crystal'. This is a clear colourless shade. The tube is 8ml, and bears the description ' Colour intense lip gloss for fuller looking lips'.
Would I recommend: There is nothing special about this lip gloss that would make me recommend it over any other clear lip gloss out there. It is fine, and gives lips a subtle shine without feeling sticky.
Where to buy and price: The 17 range is only available in Boots, with prices starting from just a few pounds. This lip gloss costs around £3.50.
