Introduction
I got this lip gloss as part of a free gift set for subscribing to a magazine, so this wasn't one of my many lip gloss purchases. I have the In The Nude shade. Despite the fact that the lip gloss looks like a quite glittery and shimmery pinky-brown shade in the tube, it is more subtle when it is on your lips and more in keeping with the shade name! You do a good hint of shimmer/ shine, especially when it hits the light but nothing overly dramatic.

Application
When you unscrew the lid of the tube and pull it off, there is a wand-style foam applicator to help you apply the lip gloss to your lips. Personally, I much prefer these types of lip gloss as the ones without applicators are messy to apply using your fingers.

The lip gloss itself isn't too sticky and goes on fairly easily. Using the applicator wand to spread it across your lips is also simple as the texture of the lip gloss seems to be just right.

The Volume
Given that this lip gloss is called Ultimate Volume, I was disappointed with the end result. The shimmer/shine is obviously intended to make your lips appear fuller, but this did nothing for me. All I got was shimmery lips, which frankly I could have got from any number of lip glosses that are currently available on the cosmetics shelves.

The Price
This lip gloss costs £3.71 from Boots. At the time of me writing this review, Boots are currently running a 3 for 2 offer on selected 17 products, but even this doesn't justify the price as far as I'm concerned as I was not impressed with the volume aspect.

My Verdict
If I had actually paid for this lip gloss, I would be seriously annoyed as it just did not live up to its name. If you want a lip gloss that makes your lips appear shimmery when the light hits it, this is a decent lip gloss but you can probably buy a cheaper lip gloss that does the same job. If you actually want a lip gloss that does indeed plump up your lips, save your money and opt for a product that really does do the job!
