Advantages: A little goes a long way, Nice smell, Doesn't dry your face out
Disadvantages: Can't think of any
I use the Botanics Balancing Deep Clean Gel. It comes in a 150ml plastic squeezy bottle. It is a green gel and it does smell a bit soapy, but it is not like soap at all once you add some water to it. You just put a small dollop in your hand, add some warm water and lather it up. Then you massage it in to your pre-wetted face. It currently retails at £3.99.
This gel claims to flush away impurities and make-up, and contains extracts of burdock and liquorice. I can't claim to know much about burdock and liquorice but they seem to work! The Botanics range uses pure natural plant extracts.
I cannot use soap on my face and this face gel is a fantastic alternative. I have been using it for a couple of years now and as long as they keep making it I'll keep on buying it! Without trying to sound like an advert it makes my face really clean without drying it out and I only have to use it once a day. I have always had combination skin and still do even though I'm in my late twenties, and this face gel helps to balance it out really well. It smells lovely and foams up nicely so a little goes a long way.
I also use other products in the Botanics range, including day and night face creams, and as Boots often do 3 for 2 and similar offers on these products it suits me down to the ground! For once here is a product that really does what it says on the label - leaves skin balanced and shine free. I particularly like the fact that it has plant extracts, it says that it contains the purest plant extracts at levels that really work - I believe this to be true! I have tried other face washes, some good, some not so good but I am hooked on this one.
Actually I just remembered that I have tried a product in the Botanics range that I did not like, and this is the one-step moisturising cleanser. It is a gel that comes in a pump dispenser, and you just sweep it over your face with cotton wool. I found that it actually made my sk
in feel quite tight and I just wanted to wash it off, even though it doesn't say to. I think I am just one of those people who like to wash properly!
Botanics now has a very large skincare range, including make-up, shampoos, conditioners, hair removal products and aromatherapy. You can't get all the products in all stores but it is all available to buy on the Boots website.
