When I first started to wear make up on a daily basis a few years ago, I was told by a friend in the business that it is essential to have a good set of make-up brushes and it can really make a difference to how good and natural your make up looks and this piece of advice has always stayed with me so although I try to save money where possible, I do have a good set of make-up brushes in my make -up drawer for all purposes. I don't tend to wear a lot of foundation, it's definitely not something that I bother with every day, and so it's not really something I pay a lot of attention to. I found "my" foundation a long time ago and have stuck with it ever since and, as it's a liquid foundation, have always used sponge/foam applicators to apply it to my skin. As my old packet of sponges had definitely seen better days I decided it was time for some new ones but when out shopping for them I happened across this brush in Boots. ~ The Brush ~ The foundation brush is Boots own brand and is perfect for applying foundation for a flawless finish. The brush is black in colour and has a strong wooden handle to it which goes into a metal holder which holds the bristles to the brush in place. The brush has a shaped head for even application and to help create a flawless finish. The brush has been specifically designed for liquid foundation which is perfect as I use liquid foundation all the time. The brush itself is made from premium quality synthetic hair which is also black in colour to match the colour of the handle of the brush. The brush itself is slightly longer than my other previous ... Read the complete review

I don't wear makeup tremendously often but I do have a Mac compact that occasionally sees the light of day. I bought a Mac foundation brush (costing about £30!) a few years ago but somewhere along the line of moving house and having a baby it got lost (insert sad face here!) and so looking for a good quality but much cheaper replacement I turned to Boots. This brush costs £8 (or 800 advantage points lol) in stores and can also be bought online. It comes in a clear plastic packaging but I store it in my little bloomingdales cosmetic bag. It is black with a wood-feeling handle and has thin black brush hairs for foundation application. The brush is more designed ... Read the complete review
