Advantages: Cheap, effective, tastes nice

Disadvantages: Tastes nice! LOL!

As anyone who regularly reads my reviews knows - I use a lot of lip salve!

I cannot stand my lips being dry and I suffer from this problem all year round in sun, wind or in doors in the central heating. I find myself constantly licking my lips and then wiping them dry which just makes my lips feel even worse. Consequently I have a collection of various lip balms in drawers around the house and more in my handbags.

The one that I am currently using is Boots Lipsalve in the Strawberry flavour and it cost me the princely sum of 99p! It is also available in spearmint, original and lemon flavours - there may be more but these are the ones that I have seen in store.

This one comes in a tube the size of a lipstick so it fits nicely in the pocket of my jacket or trousers or it will rest safely in my handbag without coming open and getting Lipsalve over everything.

When purchased the Lipsalve is sealed in clear plastic so that you can be sure that it has not been tampered with. The tube itself is also plastic and so ends up in the recycling bag when it is empty which is always a good sign as far as I am concerned.

As I said the tube itself is about the same size and shape as a lipstick. The tube is red; logically enough as it is the strawberry flavoured one, and has the Boots logo on the front and the address of the manufacturers on the back together with the web site address of www.boots.com. There is also a full list of ingredients shown.

The balm itself is a creamy white in colour and you apply it to your lips in exactly the same way as you would apply lipstick and using the same sort of amount as lipstick. It also feels the same as lipstick on your lips when you apply it.

The taste of the balm is very pleasant and the strawberry flavour is sweet and sadly very nice. Unfortunately this means that I tend to lick my lips when I am using the balm which means that I have to apply it more frequently. Silly me!

The lipsalve contains extract of chamomile to protect and moisturise the lips.

When I use this product I find that my lips feel instantly hydrated, smooth and comfortable. My lips also have a light sheen to them when I use this product.

I certainly find that the balm makes my lips feel good; they feel moisturised and comfortable which is exactly what I want from a lip balm.

The little tube is small enough to fit in the smallest of handbags, or pockets, so I can take it anywhere with me for instant relief.

Summary: At 99p you can't go wrong!

If I use flavoured lipsalve, I can't resist licking it all off so it defeats the object lol.
