Advantages: Low price - give a great natural looking glow.
Disadvantages: Can get a little messy if they fall on the floor
I am usually a very loyal fan of maybelline make up products, however, I usually turn to Boots Natural Collection for bronzing pearls, to give my skin a natural healthy glow. One of the primary reasons for breaking out of my usual maybelline purchases was the price of these pearls - £1.95, and Boots are also currently offering 3 natural collection products for £5. Really quite reasonable when you glance at some of the other make up stands in boots, only to see that one item alone at these other stands can cost a fiver.
These bronzing pearls come in two different shadesL
Sahara Sun
Tropical Tan
I actually have both in my make up bag since I use bronzing pearls practically every day underneath my cream blush.
The pearls come in a 20g clear plastic jar with a white lid. When you unscrew the lid, you find a a circular piece of foam, which I suppose you can use to apply the pearls, however I prefer to simply use a large make up brush and sweep it over the various parts of my face.
Underneath the foam piece are lots and lots of different sized pearl balls. Of the two shades that the natural collection sells, tropical tan is the more orange of the two, with bronzing pearls in shades of orange and peach. Sahara Sun is slightly darker, however both give a very natural sun kissed look, and neither leaving you looking too orange with a fake tan look.
I often find it easier to keep the lid on and shake the pearls around until they start to break up a little and then the make up brush can sweep the colour up better. If you simply run the brush across the pearls, you invariably get some stuck amongst the bristles of the brush and these then end up falling out, and often leaving a messy stain on floors (particularly difficult when you have carpet in a bedroom like we do).
All in all, I have always been very impressed with these bronzing pearls. Once you crush them a little, I find that they are very easy to apply and give a very natural glow to skin. I tend to avoid putting self tanning products on my face, and this solves any issue of having a pasty face and tanned body. I have also found that for the most part, the bronzed look lasts for most of the working day. I would have to re apply it in the evening if I was going out, but these bronzing pearls continue to give me that heatlhy looking glow for most of the day, without looking orange. For the tiny little price of these bronzing pearls, the quality is terrific, and as long as Boots Natural Collection keeps making them and keeping them at that low price, I will certainly be sticking with them. A great bargain make up item, to hid pasty skin in the winter, and add to the natural glow in the summer.
Summary: A great product for a natural glow at a terrific price
