Advantages: Cheap, easy to apply, looks natural

Disadvantages: none really

I'm not one for heavy makeup, and certainly not one to cake myself in product, and feel all hot and greasy throughout the day, whilst sporting a highly unnatural "Oompa-Loompa" orange face (with statutory white neck to contrast). However, I do sometimes like to perk my skin up when it's looking pasty. I've tried tinted moisturisers, and they don't seem to be too great, just leaving me feeling greasy and, well, yuck.

I bought a bottle of Boots Natural Collection foundation a few months ago, as I had next to no tan, and was looking particularly pasty. I'm also not very good at putting makeup on, so i was a bit apprehensive about this too.

Firstly, I like this as its in a nice pump-action bottle, which is great to put in your handbag (unlike tubes which can get squashed and cover the contents of your bag in foundation). Also, the pump action allows you to use exactly the amount you want, rather than leaving you with a big blob. Certainly less messy and as a result, a lot better value for your cash as there's very little wastage.

The shade I bought was "fresh honey", and I had no idea whether this was right or not. I think it is now, and the surprising thing is that it's fine now, and was also fine at the start of the summer when I had no tan. so unlike other, thicker products, you don't need to buy a different shade in the winter from the summer etc.

When it comes to application, I'm not one to use sponges and the like, preferring to use my fingers as it's more natural, and a thinner coverage results. The natural collection foundation is perfect, and never looks unnatural at all, and even though it's a thin coverage, my skin looks pretty flawless, and it covers any spots that decide to visit.

After a day's wear, my makeup's stayed put very well, and I find that I don't look too greasy either, which can result if you've got foundation on. And if I
do, I use powder again to sort it out.

All in all, it's natural, easy to apply, and very good value for money.

Definitely recommended.

I love the idea of it coming in a pumpaction bottle. When my trusty bodyshop 'tinted glow' stuff has run out I shall go look at this - LOL@orange faces, too:)
