Advantages: good sheer colour and shine, very cheap
Disadvantages: staying power not great -especially if you eat or drink
I actually used to use this lipstick quite regularly until a couple of months ago, but somehow it got relegated by new products and I've only just started wearing it again. I can't remember when or why I bought it, but considering the low price it turned out to be a really good buy.
Natural Collection is a Boots own brand, and they have a range of make-up as well as bath and body products. All the make-up in the range is £2 or less and I think really it is aimed at teenagers.
The packaging of this is simple yet functional. It comes in a sort of greyish white tube featuring the natural collection logo and when you remove the lid it has a silver sleeve. It uses the normal twist up action.
I'm not sure how many colours are available in the range, but the one I have is called Acorn and is a neutral pinky beige colour.
The lipstick has an angled tip for easy and precise application. I find that it glides onto my lips smoothly, but has a slightly waxy texture to it.
The lipstick gives good coverage and gives my lips a sheer sort of colour with a nice natural shine that doesn't look too over the top. I usually prefer lipstick to gloss, because with gloss inevitably your hair will blow onto your face and you'll end up with hair stuck to your lips! It's good that this gives a slight shine without being sticky.
The staying power of this lipstick is quite good, however it doesn't quite pass the glass test. As soon as you have a drink or eat something, it comes straight off. I think because of this its probably best for daytime wear, as on a night out it'd be gone pretty much straight away!
I'm not 100% sure, but I think these lipsticks cost £1.99 and are available from Boots stores. I've checked and they are not currently available online.
Overall, this is a good lipstick which gives good colour and coverage and leaves lips looking lovely and dewy. The main downside is the staying power, otherwise, considering the price, I'd say it was pretty good.
Summary: Give it a try
