Advantages: The price, large selection of colours

Disadvantages: Only available in Boots, poor durability

In a recent urge to go out and buy yet more make up, though keeping in mind my very tight budget, I decided to buy a bottle of Boots Natural Collection nail varnish in a light pink colour.

*Selection*

The first thing I noticed when browsing through Boots (the only place to purchase Natural Collection as it is Boots own brand) was the huge selection of colours. There was plenty to choose from and I found my colour in no time.

*Packaging*

The nail varnish comes in a small, clear bottle which shows the colour easily and topped with a white lid. There is only 8ml in a bottle, a little less than more expensive brands, but it's perfect, especially if you are experimenting with new colours.

*Application and Wear*

The varnish slides on well and the brush is perfectly acceptable for the price. However, due to the fact that my colour was quite a light shade, I needed at least eight coats to finally achieve something near to what the bottle suggests. Also, after a few days (without a base or a top coat) the varnish does start to noticably chip, one nail coating completely peeled off! This is only postponed by about one to two days if the extra coats are applied.

*Overall*

In conclusion, I think that the Natural Collection nail varnishes are a very good choice, especially for people who don't want to splash out a lot of money (only £1.79, bargin!) on an experimental colour, just don't expect it to last for too long!
