Natural Collection Nail Colour
I was wanting some new nail colours but because Little Miss and myself seem to be constantly changing colours right now, I didn't want to spend a lot on different colours. I have had products from the Natural Collection before and found them to be good value, so thought to buy some of the colours.
There are several colours in the range, and one of the things I like about the polishes immediately is the fact that it is quite a small bottle, only 8ml, as opposed to some bigger bottles of 15ml, which I find we get bored of.
The nail polish is advertised as being a two coat polish so obviously two coats are needed for optimum results which is fine for me as I always apply two coats of colour.
The first colour I tried looks like a metallic red when looked at through the bottle, so I was surprised when I looked at the base of the bottle and saw that the colour is called Burgundy, as I would have expected that to be a much darker colour.
When I unscrew the bottle, the brush applicator is quite short and the brush itself is a small one. Again this is fine by me as I find these brushes easier to use.
When I apply the polish I find that because of the smallish brush, I can apply it as nail polish should be applied, with three brush strokes, and again because of the size of the brush, I am less likely to get the polish too close to my skin, and make mistakes; I am painting my nails and not my skin! The polish itself is a nice consistency, not too thick or too runny, which makes it easy to apply, and means it doesn't overload on the brush. It does need two coats of polish to get the true colour as the first coat just looks thin and a bit streaky. However, after two coats the colour does look true to the colour which I saw in the bottle, a nice shiny metallic dark red.
The nail polish is dermatologically tested so wont irritate skin if it gets there by accident. What did make me chuckle though is the fact that the blurb tells me it's fragrance free. Definitely not- it has a very strong nail varnish smell.
The nail polish costs £1.89 and is available from Boots stores and also online at www.boots.com
FINAL THOUGHTS...
For the price, this is a very good polish. It is easy to apply and although it does chip at the tips after a day or two, I am fine with this as it means I can try out another colour. The colour is nice and even and there is a good shine to the colour, which looks more glossy when a top coat is applied. It is easy to remove with normal nail polish remover, but because of the ark colour, its best to wear an under coat so that nails are not stained.
I would recommend this to anyone wanting to buy some good quality nail colours and who likes to change their nail colour often.
