Boots Natural Nail Colour
Advantages: simple packaging, easy to apply, leaves my nails glossy and healthy, price
Disadvantages: range of colours
Natural Collection is a Boots own brand of cosmetics and beauty products. I will be reviewing the nail colour. I'm not sure if there is a more varied colour range instore but the Boots website only offers this nail colour in three shades - topaz, pink manicure and crystal clear.
This nail colour is described as being a 'two coat' nail colour which leaves a lasting and glossy finish. This nail colour has been dermatologically tested and is said to be fragrance free. Each nail colour is presented in a simple glass bottle with a white, screw top lid. The bottle can be recycled.
~Price and Availability~
A 8ml bottle of this nail colour will set you back £1.89. Currently available from larger Boots stores and www.boots.com.
When I lost my bottle of No7 clear nail colour, I looked at replacing it. I didn't want to spend a lot on a clear nail colour so opted for this one from Natural Collection. I have had mixed experiences with this range but didn't think I could go far wrong with a clear nail colour! This is a good, low priced range for those on a budget and wanting a simple collection of beauty products in my opinion.
The packaging is perfectly apt for this product. The clear liquid is visible through the bottle as is the black brush. The brush wand is intergrated into the lid and is a good length which makes for comfortable application. I like to take pride in my nails and often paint them in various colours and designs. Sometimes, I just want a completely natural colour for my nails but with a hint of gloss. This is where a clear nail colour comes in very handy. It is also an ideal top coat for coloured nails to give them a high shine finish.
Applying this nail colour is a doddle. The liquid itself does have a typical nail colour smell so I can assume the 'fragrance free' comment means no added fragrance as opposed to no fragrance at all. The nail colour is completely clear and looks like water but with a thicker consistency. Providing I don't overload the brush, there is no drippy mess. The brush is of a decent quality and allows the nail colour to be applied smoothly and precisely across each nail. Unlike with a coloured nail colour, I don't worry so much about going out the lines with a clear nail colour but I do find that I get an even, accurate finish when using this nail colour.
This nail colour dries fairly quickly but I do tend to apply it when I have five minutes to spare to ensure it is completely dry to the touch. The finish is very smooth and silky. This clear nail colour leaves my nails looking natural, healthy and with a gorgeous glossy appearance. It is difficult to tell how long a clear nail colour actually lasts for as well, it's clear, but I do notice that some parts of my nails become less glossy looking after three or four days so I would say that it is fairly longlasting. It is easy to top up. Although this isn't marketed as a top coat, applying over another nail colour does prolong its time on my nails. It is easy to remove with some cotton pads and nail polish remover.
Overall I can recommend this crystal clear nail colour. It is easy to apply and leaves my nails looking lovely and glossy. It is hard wearing and for the low price, it is a great product. My bottle is lasting well as I don't use it too often as I favour coloured nails. It is perfectly suitable for use on finger and toes nails and would be perfect for using for a manicure or pedicure. Recommended!
Thanks for reading :)
