Advantages: Cheap, plenty of product

Disadvantages: Cheap quality, not rich enough in colour

Of late like a lot of people I guess I have been trying to make cut backs here and there. Bills are going up, I'm getting no more money to pay for stuff than usual and things seem to be getting higher priced in general.

This doesn't mean though I don't like the odd new thing and although I own oodles of make up I do like to purchase new little bits and pieces just to refresh my makeup bag and my look a bit rather too often lol!

Boots Natural Collection is a range of affordable make up with most of the items being £1.99 each (though these are priced at £1.79 each) however more often than not you get any 3 items for a fiver. These items includes lipsticks, mascaras, blushers, foundations and allsorts really including these....... its pretty much a full range of everything you could need cosmetic wise. I have purchased the Boots Natural Collection double eye shadows before however on a recent shopping trip I spotted a colour I knew would suit me so I bought it!

The Packaging:

These solo (meaning of course you get one block colour in a compact) come in a white plastic based round compact with a twist on/off see through plastic lid to the top of it and on that we are simply told that it is Natural Collection then on the base of it we are told that is a Boots product and the colour is stated and thats about it really (no weight is even given). I opted for the Sky option in this for a change and for over the Christmas party season though it is also available in colour options Sea Shell, Soft Pink, Milk Chocolate and Crushed Walnut. There is no applicator or mirror given within this and all in all it does look a rather cheap product but it is a robust enough compact and rather deep so you get plenty of the eyeshadow for your pennies anyway.

Using It:

Well as no applicator at all is given with this I use my own brush and applicators to apply it with. It is a soft and fine powder and glides on and is easy blendable. I have no problems with this sitting in any lines, wrinkles or folds on my eyes at all and my colour has no bits of glitter in it that flakes off or anything like that and is a sky blue shade.

However I do find that this isn't a richly pigmented colour, well it isn't in the option I went for anyway. I can get even coverage but no matter how much I apply I just can't get a rich depth to my shade at all.

Once its on though it doesn't agitate my sensitive eyes or smudge over time however I do find that the colours wears off, again evenly but because it isn't thick or heavy or richly colour pigmented enough it just fades off my eyes in a couple of hours, which actually makes this quite a worthless product to me and for my needs and I am not going to keep a product this size (its quite bulky) on me to have to keep reapplying it when I own far superior eye shadows than this that don't require anywhere near the same effort!

I am not overly impressed with any of the Boots Natural Collection make-up products really. These may be ok for someone young experimenting with shades but for this 37 year old woman they don't offer enough and in my opinion these are the worst products in the range sadly.

Summary: Not for me I think this is a poor offering from Boots!
