Advantages: price, pretty colours, easy to apply
Disadvantages: staying power isn't too good, no ingredients list
The eye shadow is from Natural Collection at Boots. It costs £1.69. There are quite a few shades available, although all with a matte finish and all quite pale, suitable for daytime use.
The eye shadow comes in a small pearly white pot with a clear screw-off lid. The lid allows us to see the colour and texture of the product. Natural Collection's logo is printed onto the lid and there's a sticker on the under-side of the pot with the barcode, the shade (in my case, Soft Pink), and the Boots web address. There is no ingredients list, and no directions for use, and these aren't available on the Boots website either. I do like the packaging of this because it's simple and easy to use, although more information about the product could prove useful.
The product can be applied with fingers, a brush or one of those eyeshadow sponge-on-a-stick things. I tend to use a brush or my fingers if I'm in a rush. I find that it's better to apply more than one coat of the eyeshadow to make it more noticable otherwise it's hard to see it's even there.
Once the product was applied, it looked nice. It has a matte finish and looked fairly natural. Throughout the day, I have to re-apply it at least once because the holding power isn't all that good, but at £1.69 it's definitely a good buy if you're looking for a cheap every-day eyeshadow.
Summary: Definitely a good buy if you're looking for a cheap every-day eyeshadow.
