Advantages: Cheap, waterproof mascara

Disadvantages: Goes clumpy, dries out rather alot after you've only opened it the once

The other week when I was in Boots and I decided I wanted to treat myself to some new cosmetics....just to cheer myself up with really and not really out of need as such. However I did need a couple of mascara's which is why I went to Boots in the first place and this was one of my chosen 2!

This costs £1.99 for a 7ml tube though I bought this on offer with 3 items from this range costing only £5.00 and I bought rather a few products and got a wee bit carried away I have to admit!

The packaging of Boots Natural Collection products is very simple indeed. The tube is white and plastic and one end twists off and in that lid there is a long plastic wand with a thin bristly brush to the end of it and on one side of it we are told that it is Natural Collection and on the other side contact details for Boots are given and then on the base of the tube the colour is stated and size. Its informative enough I guess just very basic though easy to open and close and so on to be fair to it.

Using It:

What appealed to me about this mascara is that it is waterproof and with the weather we are having at the moment I felt it would be quite a handy product to use as I'm sick of my mascara running down my face!

This came in 2 colour options. Me being me I went for the black option as that is what I prefer to wear day or night but it also comes in a brown/black option which is a slightly softer colour option of course.

The brush on this is rather thin however the consistency of the product is really thick and gunky and I found I need to wipe the brush a bit first on the top of the tube to try rid the small clumps that arise. It applies nicely enough, I do have to make sure that I'm not aplying too much mascara though as my eyelashes go spindly but if I apply it and concentrate whilst doing it, it simply defines my eyelashes rather well. It doesn't particulary lengthen them or lift them at all but they do look coated and darker and I am overall pleased enough with the application of this product, though I can't simply and quickly paint and go with it.

Is it waterproof though? Yes it is really. You can't swim in it but its splash proof and tear proof enough and I don't find it easy to smudge either. It doesn't agitate my sensitive eyes, its simple enough to remove with my usual cleansing routine and all in all its an ok little purchase but nothing special. I wouldn't avoid it in the future but I'd rather pay a bit more and get a better packaged and easier to apply product in all honesty!

Summary: Its ok but I won't be buying it again, it takes me too long to apply it!
