Well it's my birthday today, and as you get to a certain age when your skin is starting to sag and you notice a few too many lines around the eyes, the search starts! That quest for the perfect anti-ageing 'make you look ten years younger' product! Well I have been searching and I have found a product which I am getting rather attached to - Boots No 7 Age Rewind Foundation!

I have to say that I am always on the look out for a good foundation as well - one that is easy to apply and does not smear! I'm not the world's greatest expert at applying my make-up so it does need to be rather foolproof!

I am also a big fan of the Boots No 7 ranges as it is pretty practical, caters for all skin types and problems and does not cost the earth! So when I was shopping on Boots.com and saw this foundation which would 'give me younger looking skin in a moment' I knew I just had to try it!

The foundation comes in one of those pump action dispensers which makes it very easy to use. Sometimes the nozzle does get a bit clogged up but show me a pump dispenser where that does not happen! If you remember to always put the lid on though it is not too bad! There is something very nifty about this dispenser though which I do particularly like and that is the fact that the base of the dispenser moves up as you use up the foundation! This means that you won't have to waste the final sixth because you can't get it out! Also it's very easy to see how much you have left - very clever!

When I use my foundation I generally get a small amount on the back of my hand and then gradually take little bits and smooth it in to my skin with my fingertips. When I first used it I couldn't believe just how smooth and silky it felt on my skin! It was perfect! Also, after having blended it all in I am always very pleased with the result - it is so easy to smooth in without any smears. There are six different variant shades to choose from. I have fairly light skin so I opted for buff which is the second lightest and it does come out as a fairly good colour - not too strong but not wishy washy either!

But waht about the 'younger looking skin' aspect? Well I am really pleased with this side of it too! A lot of my lines and imperfections do seem less visible and this effect seems to last a good few hours too! On the box it comes in, it states that it has built in No 7's own anti-ageing complex which means that this will have a longer term effect on your skin, as well as doing a good cover up job on a day to day basis! It also has SPF 15 to protect against the sun and also moisturisers to 'keep your skin radiant and supple without clogging pores'.

So all in all I think there is a lot to recommend this foundation. It feels lovely and does make you look a little bit younger as you go out to face the world! Of course, it's no miracle cure and unless you want to spend thousands I do feel that you have to accept an older looking face as you yourself get older! Having said that, feeling a little younger looking can also boost your confidence - and I do feel good when I am wearing this!
